Rupert Murdoch Goes To Bat For Piers Morgan On Twitter
Since the massacre of 20 children and 6 adults at Newtown, Piers Morgan has become one of the most outspoken proponents of the need for new gun control laws. On his CNN show, he has advocated for assault weapon legislation while also debating various opponents of the laws ranging from the wacky to the far more mainstream. That has also made the former America’s Got Talent host, a juicy target for gun advocates. So much so, that a petition on the White House website to boot the British born Morgan from the country got well over 100,000 signatures. Morgan responded in the British newspaper Daily Mail assuring his critics that he would deport himself “if you don’t change your gun laws.”
Many of those who would like to see Morgan shipped out may also watch Fox News, the network owned by one Rupert Murdoch. That same Murdoch has also been advocating for some gun control laws in the wake of the Newtown massacre and today took to Twitter to defend Morgan. . . sort of.

One has to wonder whether the “as does CNN” was intended as a dig but regardless it seems Morgan has an ally in Murdoch. Morgan responded:
Don’t count on it.
