Rush Limbaugh Knows Who Should Replace Donald Trump on the GOP Ticket
Rush Limbaugh responded to the news Friday that a majority of GOP insiders want Donald Trump to drop out. The conservative radio host, perhaps jocularly, suggested a possible replacement.
“If Trump drops out, who would be ideal to take over for Trump?” Limbaugh asked Friday. “Who would be ideal? How about…? Just hear me out on this before your knee-jerk reactions. How about Khizr Khan as the replacement Republican nominee for Donald Trump?”
Khizr Khan delivered a powerful address rebuking Trump at the DNC in which he talked about the loss of his son, a Muslim-American soldier who died in Iraq in 2004. Trump retaliated against the Khans for days, in a move that drew widespread criticism, notably from leadership within the GOP.
The lesson from all this, Limbaugh reasoned, is that Khan is the ideal candidate because he is beyond criticism. He continued:
I mean, how can Hillary even run against the father of a war hero? How could Hillary run against him? She couldn’t say a word. She couldn’t criticize him. That’s what we’ve learned from Democratic convention. You can’t criticize Khizr Khan!
[…] You can’t criticize him! Not even Mrs. Clinton. He’s a Muslim to boot. Double insurance against any criticism whatsoever.
