Rush Limbaugh On Irene: ‘Obama Was Hoping This Would Be A Disaster’

It seems that, in the direct aftermath of Hurricane Irene, the national discourse in many areas has turned from “OMG WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE! WTF IRENE?!?!” to something more like “OMG ONLY A FEW OF US DIED!* WTF MEDIA?!?!” You can count Rush Limbaugh as one of those leading the charge against the hype as, today on his radio show, he called the media’s presentation of the storm a “national embarrassment.” However, it wasn’t just the media that Limbaugh felt had their fingers crossed for a bigger storm than we got as he accused President Obama of this as well.

*Currently around 32.

“I’m going to tell you something, the hysterical reporting on Irene? They couldn’t wait for this storm. Obama- I’ll guarantee you this. I’ll guarantee you that Obama was hoping this was going to be a disaster an another excuse for his failing economy. If he’s out there blaming tsunamis, blaming earthquakes, and whatever other natural disasters there are. This one was made to order but it just didn’t measure up.”

Limbaugh went on to say that nothing in the storm predictions came true except for the Irene’s track and that it was all “another media frenzy without results…just like Obama’s presidency.” Zing!

It’s too bad though. Limbaugh is right. Obama could have really used this. And, besides, we know how well Katrina worked for President Bush.
