Seriously? Jersey Shore‘s Snooki, An Author Now, Insists You Call Her Nicole
Ah, reality “stars.” We build them up, and then we tear them down. Can we get the tear-down started for Snooki now? Please?
As you may have heard–and quite possibly sighed over the news–Nicole Polizzi has added to her status as a star of television’s Jersey Shore by becoming a published author. The book, A Shore Thing, has apparently gone directly to her head.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Snooki–who tells the News given her status as an author and all, she’d really rather be called Nicole from here on–believes she’s going to be taken seriously for her writing:
“I’m very happy that a lot of people want to read it, and that people who have read it are impressed,” says Polizzi, 24. “The people who aren’t going to read it, the negative people, I’m sure if they DID read it, they’d think it was awesome.”
Let me make it absolutely clear, I have not read the book–a novel, no less–which features characters named “Giovanna Spumanti” and her cousin, “Isabella Rizzoli.” The book begins (I’m big on first lines) like this:
“Life was hard. But a pouf? That should be easy.”
So, Nicole, just put me down as a hater. I can’t bring myself to read any more.
