Ted Cruz Reacts to AP Image of Gun Pointed at His Head

Earlier this week, the Associated Press sent out a few photos taken by Charlie Neibergall showing Ted Cruz speaking at a shooting range, with some, um, striking placement:

Instantly, conservatives jumped all over it, citing it as yet another example of liberal media hypocrisy because 1) they wouldn’t have done this with a Democrat, and 2) the liberal press raised lots of eyebrows at Sarah Palin for a “crosshairs” election map that talked about taking out members of Congress, one of whom was Gabrielle Giffords.

Cruz appeared on Mark Levin‘s show today, and the radio host asked the presidential candidate for his reaction to the photos. Levin called it “so appalling” and “outrageous” and highlighted the double standard.

Cruz agreed that the blowback would have been much fiercer if a Democrat had been photographed like that, and said of the media, “They view us as ignorant rubes, and that’s their hostility coming out.”
