I’m proud of what I said. I told the sanctimonious shouters promoting class warfare to go to hell….

There may be those on the left who really want civil discourse. It’s possible there are some who realize that our national debt is, in fact, out of control. There’s a chance that sane debate is the actual goal of a number of self-proclaimed liberal activists.

But I didn’t see any of those people in Madison on Saturday morning. I’m not going to pretend that I did. It was a mob, whipped up by the divider-in-chief and his cronies who live off of union dues and taxpayer funded handouts. And in case any of you in the back row missed it , I repeat – go to hell.

I see that the rhetoric is once again over the top. Let’s get facts right. Firstly, any thinking person knows that there was a need for unions. Unions were awesome and then greed set in. Right around the time of Jimmy Hoffa it became public knowledge that the unions had become part of the “mafia”. Well, now we have absolute dregs who come out to represent the “unions”. What are people to think? We have the lazy radical students who think it’s fun to go and disrupt. Somehow union people are o.k. with that. What is wrong with this picture. My other problem with the “unions” is the bosses are rich – very rich. On the backs of union members. Something wrong with that one too.

Lastly, I don’t believe that union dues should EVER be allowed to be used for political gain. The dues were collected (back in the good old days) to help union members survive during strikes. Now it’s completely misused and nobody is crying foul.

C’mon guys, admit it. Madison, Wisconsin is not where you want to hold an AFP rally. It took everything AFP had to muster maybe 400 Tea Partiers and kindred spirits, and we were outnumbered 20 to 1.

And if we’re going to get anywhere in this country, we’re going to have to stop pretending that the counter-protesters were all bussed in, paid off by unions, etc. There is a lot of genuine controversy in my state and conservatives, realistically, are looking at an uphill battle. A sitting Supreme Court Justice with $3 million to spend on TV commercials beat an unknown government lawyer (who got about half that much for ads) by fewer than 8,000 votes out of 1.6 million cast statewide. Recalls against at least four or five GOP state senators are moving forward.

Name calling, insults and distorting reality are not going to help. (Neither is playing “Born in the USA” over the sound dystem at an AFP rally, which the folks in Madison did yesteday. I could not believe my ears. That song has been out for 25 years, and you still haven’t listened to all the words???)

Telling people to go to hell makes the base feel warm and fuzzy, but doesn’t add a vote to it. We need to get our act together, put boots on the ground and play politics like adults.

Low numbers? I’ve heard that argument since the inception of the Tea-Party. What most liberals fail to notice is, most Tea-Party members actually work and provide for their families. Which apparently, is a Liberal-Progressive NO-NO (Why do it for yourself when the government can do it for you). None of the Tea-Party rallies were big but, they were big when it mattered, when it came time to vote.
All Tea-Party rallies were adult in nature. Absent was physical violence, and an army of cleanup crews. It looks like there were more protesters than Tea-Partiers from all the footage I’ve seen. It seems like the Teabaggers have moved on to Donald Trump. Nobody cares about her anymore she is a bench player that won’t even throw her hat in the ring.

Walker and his toadies explicitly attempted to divide the community against itself (union members vs regular people). Walker’s entire election and legislative campaign was “them vs us.” The entire teabag coalition is them vs us (who are they supposed to be “taking the country back” from?)

However, when snow turns to rain, it’s not a pleasant thing and people stayed and screamed louder and louder. And I believe it was the most widely attended one. You seem upset that your favorite cheerleader is yesterday’s news . I get Wisconsin and it looks like they woke up!! They’re now having the biggest recall drive in state history. With all the advertising and money that was provided for this Rally it sure was a dud. I wonder if the Koch brothers are going to ask for a refund? There probably pissed that they wasted $200K for that dud.

Michael Moore rally had more than 10 times what her little rally had and it was snowing.

Even Ed Schultz’s free event at the Barrymore Theatre had more people than what showed up to Palin’s little picnic.

My definition of a patriot obviously differs from yours. A patriot loves his country and the people in it, and is thankful to God for our American exceptionalism. We love our Constitution and our foundation in individual liberty, private property, pursuit of prosperity, and self determination. What is this Breitbart comment about the “silent majority”? I think he needs to check the polls. If he is referencing the Tea Party they have been everthing but silent and very much the minority. However, I do say some good has come out of the Tea Party movement. If nothing else they have made us all aware of spending within our means, but this spending spree has been going on for years. The spending problem in this country is not going to be fix in the short term as the Tea Party is pushing. The bailouts are a good example of what they try to demonize, but was a necessary evil.
My big concern about the tea party and people like Palin are the unrealistic expectation they are attempting to convey. Where were they eight years ago? Many of these people were Bush worshipers and he and his administration were a good part of the problem. If you look closely at the Republican budget deal past by the Republican house it dismantels Medicare and Medicaid, kills Obamacare, increases defense spending, deep cuts in food stamps and community development, kills all bailout programs, and keeps the tax cuts for the top pay earners. That is a very one sided approach to a very complex problem. What happen Tea Party to everything is on the table? Oh I see everything is on the table, but……
