WATCH LIVE: Michael Cohen Testifies Against Trump in Congressional Hearing

Michael Cohen will appear before the House Oversight Committee for a hearing today, during which, he is expected to slam President Donald Trump and speak of his former boss’ alleged criminal behavior. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. ET.

Trump’s legally-embattled former attorney intends to speak about a range of issues on Wednesday in order to portray the president as a “conman,” a “racist,” and a person mired in illicit activities throughout his life in business and politics.

A significant portion of the hearing is likely to focus on how Cohen has implicated Trump as being directly involved in the illegal hush money payments he made to silence Trump’s affairs with Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. Cohen is prepared to show a check Trump signed to reimburse him for these campaign finance lawbreaking payments, and indications suggest that Cohen has another reimbursement check signed by Donald Trump Jr.

Cohen is also expected to talk about Trump’s business interests and connections to Russia, and this is where his credibility is most likely to come under attack by critics.

Cohen will head to prison in May since he has been convicted for lying to Congress and a number of campaign finance crimes in his personal life. In terms of the first charge, however, Cohen’s prepared remarks show he intends to claim that the president wanted him to lie to Congress about plans that were made for a Trump Tower in Moscow.

Another expected bombshell is Cohen’s claim of Trump having advanced knowledge of Wikileaks plan to release hacked emails and cripple Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 campaign. This development could have major connotations for Roger Stone and for the investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia.
