WATCH: North Carolina GOP State Rep. Makes Birther Joke About Obama

Birtherism just won’t die, apparently, because one North Carolina state senator couldn’t resist cracking a joke about President Obama‘s secret foreign origins at a recent conservative conference.

North Carolina state senator Larry Pittman did a whole set-up about he completely disagrees with the idea that Obama is a traitor because… well, I won’t give away the punchline.

This week happens to be an especially bad one for the North Carolina GOP, given the high-profile firing of one precinct chair after a shockingly racist interview he gave The Daily Show and is still defending.
