Wyclef Jean Says Sean Penn “Too Busy Sniffing Cocaine” To See Him In Haiti

Wyclef Jean‘s failed bid for President of Haiti is now in the post-eligibility ruling trash-talking phase.

Remember when Sean Penn and his former bandmate Pras took some knocks at Wyclef? He’s got a response in the form of a remixed song.

After Jean’s announcement in August, Sean Penn questioned his dedication to the country, saying, “I haven’t seen or heard anything of him in these last six months that I’ve been in Haiti.” Meanwhile Pras, who was part of The Fugees with Jean, had mixed reaction to the news and endorsed a rival candidate.

Clef has fired back. While performing over the weekend in New York, he transitioned from his hit “If I Was President” (from a few years ago – before the Haiti bid) into a response to Penn and Pras.

I got a message for Sean Penn – maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine. I got a message for Praswell – even though you don’t want to support me, I got love for you, even though you only kicked eight bars in The Fugees.

You really have to watch the video below. The melodic way Wyclef drops the sniffing cocaine line is pretty fantastic (also, his freestyle at the end).

So will we get a reaction from Penn next? He’s developed a sense of humor recently. Let’s get Wolf Blitzer involved.

Wycleft just comes off petty here.

    Also, the song blows (ha!).

As if Wyclef never did drugs! He is no saint.

    Sean Penn FTW here.

I think Wyclef is just mad because Penn now knows more about Haiti politics than he does.

Sean’s a quick study and called out Clef on this.

    Clef is like: “the nerve!”

But Sean is right here. And it doesn’t matter if Sean smokes cigarettes, smokes weed or does coke. None of those things make him less right.

This was awesome…lol. I don’t think he’s qualified to be president of Haiti, but that’s the best way to respond.

“I got a message for Sean Penn – maybe he ain’t see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine.”

I knew there had to be a reason for Sean Penn’s crazy political comments.

It is impossible to fall out of love. Love is such a powerful emotion, that once it envelops you it does not depart. True love is eternal. If you think that you were once in love, but fell out of it, then it wasn’t love you were in. There are no ‘exit’ signs in love, there is only an ‘on’ ramp. Not a fan of Sean Penn politically, but he has been there and can’t fault anyone for doing good on the basis of it being good.

Wyclef is strange, I can’t speak to his motives, but I do question them. I call BS on him here, taking swipes like that when it’s something that he was serious about.
