On ABC’s This Week, Tina Brown, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Beast and Newsweek participated in a panel discussion on “female freedom fighters” across the Middle East and also revealed the new, redesigned cover for the revamped Newsweek.

With Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the cover, Brown’s issue reviews the “150 Women Who Shake The World.” Whether Brown’s new vision for the weekly magazine can spark renewed interest and success for Newsweek remains to be seen.

Newsweek is a left wing propaganda rag. My guess is the woman it lists will reflect that.

A couple things: 1) This looks like an AARP magazine, now. 2) That pic is horribly airbrushed and 3) Unless you revamp the writers, a cover makeover isn’t going to change the awful contents.

Newsweak has a “revamped” cover? Don’t you have to be in print to have a cover? I remember when Newsweek used to be relevant…before the far-leftists decided to turn it into a propaganda rag and everyone stopped buying it (here’s a tip…far-leftists are usually broke asses living in mommy’s basement).

The only thing to say here is, LOL.

Tina Brown was on point with the role of women in a society and the growth and stability of its democracy. Though she may want to see if the Murdoch “Daily” model works and try to move Newsweek out of print or push on the Economist style of deep analysis (which they tried and failed to emulate). I barely have any inclination to read news that is at least 5 days old without giving a new perspective.

Like this is going to improve what’s between the covers. It’s like a tv station with a crappy newscast changing it’s set expecting improvement.

Tina Brown is a consummate professional. Let’s see what she can do merging the Daily Beast with Newsweek.

To the casual observer, I can barely tell a difference.

I pick up Newsweek in the airport concession stand, but that’s about it. In addition to the cover, they need something more distinctive.

There’s no need for Time, Newsweek, AND US News these days. They all offer basically the same thing.
