AZ Gov. Jan Brewer Has A Message For Pres. Obama And Sec. Napolitano: ‘Do Your Job’

video

With all the controversy surrounding the illegal immigration bill she signed several weeks ago, it’s surprising we haven’t seen more of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. She came out swinging on Thursday in an interview with Greta Van Susteren, accusing the federal government of negligence with the illegal immigration and expressing frustration at the lack of communication between Phoenix and Washington.

Brewer defended her law as a last stand against illegal immigration, which she noted was creating all sorts of problems for the state and making the crime surrounding it seem barely possible. Van Susteren asked Brewer if she had had received any offers of help from the White House, and if she felt she was sufficiently backed by the federal government. Her answer was, quite simply, no:

“They haven’t, Greta, and it’s really frustrating, you know. We are out here on the battlefield, getting the impact of all this illegal immigration, and all the crime that comes with it, and no one. I have repeatedly sent letters to the administration and to the President of the United States with absolutely no response, and I’m hopeful that when I’m in Washington, DC, in about a week and a half, that I’ll be able to at least touch base with the Secretary of Homeland Security and the President of the United States. We need help! They need to do their job and stand up and secure our borders.”

She also called the claim that Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano had not read the Arizona immigration law “unconscionable” and attacked opponents of it as not understanding the problems Arizona currently faces. She repeated the “do your job” mantra again at the end of the interview, where Van Susteren specifically asks her to send a message to Washington.

How can she accuse the feds of being negligent? If that were the case, we’d have millions of people here illegally.

    Funny joke, writer.

Did you read the story today, that says that the feds might not do anything about the illegal’s AZ arrests?

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports.

So not only are they not going to do anything to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border… but once their found and detained, they’re not going to do anything. Talk about “not doing your job!”

  • writer

The feds not doing anything? That is a shocker!

  • notsofast

If Mr. Morton feels he can not enforce the laws of the USA, he should step down now.

“In its first fiscal year of 2009, the Obama Administration deported 387,790 immigrants. The number represents a rise of almost 100,000 immigrants compared to the last full fiscal year of the Bush presidency.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration has gone even further, depriving the citizenship rights for those who are involved in alleged terrorist activities. “

“The number of undocumented immigrants attempting to cross U.S. borders has decreased 27 percent, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP.)

At a Washington’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, refugees and border security held this Wednesday, Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer announced reports from the CBP indicate the decrease on the immigration flows has been mostly along the U.S. border with Mexico.”

    C.
And for all of you cut government spending, balance the budget, reduce the deficit types:

“The cost of building and maintaining a double set of steel fences along 700 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border could be five to 25 times greater than congressional leaders forecast last year, or as much as $49 billion over the expected 25-year life span of the fence, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

A little-noticed study the research service released in December notes that even the $49 billion does not include the expense of acquiring private land along hundreds of miles of border or the cost of labor if the job is done by private contractors — both of which could drive the price billions of dollars higher.

Point by Point, the Obama Administration is more aggressive and effective than the Bush Administration in deportation and curtailing of illegal immigration.

If you want a fence, righties…RAISE TAXES and PAY FOR IT.

Since the dems applauded Calderon, I think we should immediately adopt the same immigration rules as Mexico.

  • notsofast

And there are still nearly 500k illegals in AZ.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Cobra.

And why won’t the Black Congressional Caucus admit whites?

  • Rogue-Comic

The only reason this is such a hot issue stems from Harry Reid and Obama needing a high latino turn out for the mid term elections.

  • Big_F-ing_Deal

I’ll be honest…if Arizona finds an Hispanic mother of three who has been here for ten years working hard to support her family I do NOT want the feds sending her home.
America has more heart than that.

Maybe I take it personally because I know quite a few people like that.

Then you should NOT support an economic boycott of Arizona so that mother of three can continue to work hard to support her family.

Tell the mostly White employers in AZ to stop HIRING them, and they’d stop coming in such numbers.

“And why won’t the Black Congressional Caucus admit whites?”

Because they don’t have to. They’re subject to the same rules as the Caucus of Black Congressional Republicans….if there WERE any Black Republicans in Congress to HOLD a caucus.

    A) Was there a rise in illegals crossing the border? What caused the extra illegals to get caught? What programs did Obama initiate to increase this number… or is it remnants of the Bush Administration… or just coincidence?

    B) Wouldn’t this support the notion that the border fence is working?

    C) Couldn’t we just hire the Mexicans? But really, if it’s working, shouldn’t they continue it? Wouldn’t this be a worthwhile program to continue, instead of starting new programs which will cost untold billions, and have unknown results? Finish what we start, before spending money on new stuff. Doesn’t that make sense?

Point by Point, the Obama Administration is more aggressive and effective than the Bush Administration in deportation and curtailing of illegal immigration.

And 99.9999% of people will tell you the Bush Administration did a crummy job of immigration. That doesn’t mean Obama can do a crummy job, nor does it mean the job he’s currently doing is good enough. Those are false conclusions.

Tell the mostly White employers in AZ to stop HIRING them, and they’d stop coming in such numbers.

Well, yes and no. While I’d approve of shutting down the people hiring illegals (and let’s not forget, that the folks doing that are doing so because they can pay them lower wages, work them harder, and treat them in a manner that is un-American. Why the left doesn’t shout more about that, I don’t understand… but I digress), there is also the drug trade which is significant… as well as gangs, kidnapping, and other methods of “making money.” Additionally, there are many other benefits to living in America, such a medicine, education, opportunity, welfare, and so on, which simply don’t exist for many of these people in Mexico. Jobs are one part… but America offers illegals a lot more than just that. Shutting the businesses down would be a good start, but wouldn’t solve the problem by a long shot.

…if there WERE any Black Republicans in Congress to HOLD a caucus.

You’re not going to pull that tired line out, are you? Do yourself a favor and Google (after playing Pac-Man) Black Republicans 2010, and you’ll find a surge of Blacks running for office on the right in this election. Unless you’re prepared to call everyone who doesn’t vote for them “racist,” especially Democrats… you should give up this goofy line of thinking before you look even more foolish.

  • The Real Royal King

With apologies to Righter and INB: Rather than using this is a forum to espouse to extremist rightist views, I would like to actaully discuss a media aspect of this. In Van Susteren, we have a depraved journalist. Petty, vindictive. Self-serving. Ethically-challenged. In her slavish devotion to Hillary Clinton and her endless scorn for perceived wrongs which even SOS Clinton does not feel, Van Susteren has dedicated her career to nothing more than shrill, constant Obama-bashing, even allowing her blog to be turned into a racist watering hole to meet her end, even to shamelessly promoting the inept and equally ethically-challenged Drop Out Governor of Alaska until DOGA moved on to others who would further advance her personal agenda, even to becoming the de jure sponsor of the Tea Party. Van Susteren is absolutely disgraceful.

For being the King who truly wears no clothes,

You are the weakest link , GOODBYE !

The King would rather espouse extremist leftist views. And King, you still haven’t answered why you don’t consider hatred of white people to be racism. By now I’m well familiar with your ‘yoke of oppression’, etc., etc., line of excuses. But those are merely excuses as to why you hate white people. It still doesn’t answer the question: Do you consider your hatred of the white race to be racism?
