Beyoncé Admits To Inauguration Lip-Synching At Super Bowl Press Conference

Beyoncé held a press conference for the NFL Network that was ostensibly about her upcoming half-time performance at the big game on Sunday, but inevitably focused on her lip-synched performance at last week’s inauguration.

After singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” live in front of the reporters and the rest of world watching on TV, Beyoncé fielded the first question from a reporter who asked about the lip-synching controversy.

“I am a perfectionist,” Beyoncé said. “I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. She added that it was “a very important, emotional show for me. I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the inauguration and I wanted to make him and the country proud. I’m very proud of my performance.”

Later in the press conference, Beyoncé confirmed that she will be singing live for her Super Bowl half-time show.
