Chris Matthews: Newt Gingrich’s ‘Racial Politics Is Doing Bad Things For This Country’

Chris Matthews was one person not celebrating yesterday’s presidential announcement from Newt Gingrich. Instead he convened a panel of guests to analyze whether various statements Gingrich made last night in his appearance with Sean Hannity were examples of playing “racial politics.” Matthews concluded yes they were.

After video played of Newt suggesting there is a reason for the “collapse of Detroit and the rise of Texas,” Matthews asked his panel “tell me you don’t know what he’s saying?” At first not all were convinced that it was Newt hinting at race, rather than simply praising the benefits of conservatism over liberalism. Yet Josh Marshall from Talking Points Memo agreed with Matthews and argued Detroit is a “very black city” and Newt regularly uses race-related language.

Matthews concluded:

“I think that’s a racist charge. I don’t know what Newt’s heart says, I know he’s willing to play this game. . . . Anybody who plays racial politics is doing bad things for this country.”

Although if a Republican candidate can get Matthews this riled up, might that be a sign that Newt has real potential with Republican primary voters?

Matthews using the term “the young buck…” Matthews is a race baiter. He goes to race every time.

Detroit is a “very black city” and somehow Gingrich is “saying” that without ever saying that. Texas is a very “Hispanic” state, but Matthews does not see Gingrich pointing that out because it can’t be used as having any negative racial overtones to support Matthews’ rant. Is Gingrich saying (somewhere in Matthews’ mind) that Hispanic workers/citizens are better than Detroit’s black citizen? Using Matthew’s logic you could come to such a ridiculous assumption.

And this “Mau Mau” stuff; like “the young buck,” this is all Matthews. Matthews is a race baiter. He sees himself as enlighted, but he’s simply a fool. His show is broadcast twice and he can’t get an audience either time (his combined broadcasts together don’t even pull in many viewers).

For Matthews, the more obnoxious he is, the more he thinks he’s “saying” something.

In this segement, Matthews should have just interviewed himself. He spend most of the time putting words into these three “stooges’” mouths.

Matthews is such a fraud. The clip he plays showing Newt on Fox last night was not in the least bit racist. The earlier comment Matthews falls back on (the “mau mau” quote referring to “Kenyan anti-colonial behavior”) was racist. I thought. It just happened too long ago to be the lead, so he tries ham-handedly to tie it to what Newt said last night on Fox. I’m not voting Obama, Palin, Trump or Gingrich. Time for someone new to emerge.

Let’s remember that in ultra-psycho right-wing Texas, the state has a budget shortfall estimated to be as high as $27 billion over the next two years. Rise of Texas my a**! So much for Republican governance. So much for conservatism run amok. Detroit started going down hill decades ago with the collapse of the American car industry. American auto companies shut down plants, kicked workers to the curb, and obliterated the middle-class there. The companies left nothing but poverty and destruction. Democrats WERE NOT the driving force behind the downfall of Detroit. The city was a victim of U.S. companies betraying their workers and leaving them to the street. He accused Gingrich of blaming the Susan Smith case–in which a white woman drowned her two small children and blamed a black carjacker for the crime–on Democrats. If my recollection is correct, I think Marshall is confusing the Susan Smith case with this Illinois case from around the same time:

Self Correction: Apparently Gingrich did politicize the Susan Smith case. But I would ask Marshall, how much worse is that than the entire mainstream (and far left) media trying to score points on the massacre in Arizona last year?

Watch Lawrence and you see extreme anger and hatred in his eyes that speaks of mental illness. Rachael, is just a nutty goofball. Ed Schultz’s eyes shows symptoms of drug usage. Maybe it is prescribed but, I doubt it. No telling what the DEA would find if they paid a surprise visit to the New York city and Washington, DC. studios. It is more than simply a different political viewpoint from FOX News and Right Wingers. Something sick is going on at LSDnbc.

that’s one of the main complaints i have. i know i will not agree with maybe 60% of the posts here but i still love reading them, firstly because the posts are generally informative but mostly i enjoy the wit and humor.

of course everyone has opinions about these topics, but if that is the ONLY thing you are going to post, please don’t take up my computer screen with you inane banalities.

In some cases it’s targeted racism of the type we are seeing in his continuing misplaced attempt to get amnesty 15 to 20-million illegal alien trespassers who are directly responsible for the low number of Blacks being employed. Innuendo, innuendo!!!??? By fact, (FACT) Nazi Newt has made Nazi references about liberals and Obama! Newt has also stated documented lies, about Obama being in locations where he was not and performing racial violence at the same time! He says this for the….”teas”…. because they enjoy hearing it!
