CNN’s Ali Velshi Calls Out RNC’s Communication Director Doug Heye

video

It looks like the President wasn’t the only one who’s a little worked up today. On CNN, Ali Velshi wasn’t happy with comments from the RNC’s Communication Director, Doug Heye, made which Velshi felt implied that the working people of America were a special interest group. Sensing some compelling television in the making, Rick Sanchez brought Heye back on to respond. Sure enough, we got what Sanchez later called a “spirited conversation” as Velshi and Heye argued over what’s really hurting our nation’s workers.

Velshi and Heye clearly had differing views on the speech as a whole (Velshi called it “a president on fire” while Heye said parts of it were “beneath the office of the president”) and they also disagreed on what was the biggest problem right now for small businesses. Heye named the government’s (ie. Obama’s) policies while Velshi pointed to the inability to get loans from private banks. Both got some good punches in before Sanchez turned the conversation back to whether or not the speech was too personal. So, I’ll leave it to you all; who had a better grasp on the struggles of America’s working man?

One thing we do know is that ANYONE that defends what Obama has done to the economy is nothing but a shill for the progressive agenda. You can’t defend Obama without lying. So needless to say Velshi is nothing but a shill for Obama.

That’s rich. But the head of the Republican National Commitee is just an objective, nonpartisan observer? Do you watch anything other than Fox “News”?

Anything that’s not Fox is not “liberal.” Fox is a propaganda network that doesn’t actually show real news.

The economy can be laid squarely at the feet of George W. Bush and his failed policies of trickle down economics, which also failed under Reagan.

As a true progressive, I can tell you that most of us feel Obama’s policies have been far too moderate. In fact, economists say the stimulus package was not large enough to adequately reverse the economic problems. Nevertheless, the stock market has gone up, the private sector is starting to create jobs (after several years of steady losses under Bush), and the stimulus package has been shown to have created jobs.

Unfortunately, it was not enough to undo all the bad that Bush wrought on the economy (which 70% of people still blame Bush for), but it’s a start.

In this Barak Obama recession, any of our nations “workers” are lucky to still be working.

Why didn’t he focus on the economy when he got the job. If he didn’t recognize the problem then and know what to do, why in the hell does he know now?

I have to admit I am shocked. Why would the RNC need a Communications Director? Isn’t that O’Beckerhead’s job?

Somebody should have asked Velshi why banks aren’t lending. Does it have anything to do with the fact they don’t have to take any risk because they’re getting free money from the fed? It amazes me that Obama keeps piling on the republicans when he has had control of Congress. It’s all about the content. How’s everyone liking the fact that health care premiums are up 15% and you have less coverage and larger copays? When the bill was passed they were going to implement the best parts so the public and businesses would have these great expectations. This is the result of the best parts? Small businesses are dreading the fines they are going to have to pay if they have over 50 employees and can’t afford health coverage . Not all businesses have huge bottom line margins. Restaurant industry (fast food and casual) is screwed with this bill.I wouldn’t be surprised if Burger King factored that in with the recent sale. These tax credits for hiring are a fucking joke. Who is going to hire an employee if they have no use for that person? Have her sit at a empty desk for 6 months so you can collect a credit. Then let her go and pay 99 weeks of unemployment. The only way this country will get back on it’s feet is when the stimulus comes from the free markets.

CatM, what are you smoking? Last week I gave a challenge to all Fox haters like you. Starting tomorrow name just ONE lie reported on the Fox News programs. If they report fake news all the time it should be easy for you. None of the Fox haters have been able to do it in a week. You do know what a news program is don’t you?
It is not a commentary program like Beck, O’reilly, Hannity or ReGretaBull Van Whatshername. So I will be looking for you to give me a lie reported on Fox News tomorrow.

You have identified yourself as a “true progressive”. That indicates that you live in a dream world and are most likely insane. It is clear you keep hearing the voice of GW Bush in your head. Stop the drugs and it will go away.

Now get your blankie and go to bed it is getting late and you need your rest.

    From Velshi’s Wikipedia page:

Born in Kenya and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he is the son of Murad Velshi the first Canadian of Indian origin elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
In 1996, Velshi was awarded a fellowship to the United States Congress from the American Political Science Association. In this capacity he worked with Lee Hamilton, then a Democratic Representative from Indiana.
Velshi moved to the U.S. in September 2001, joining business news channel CNNfn in New York City.

This is why no one watches CNN anymore. What American who was born and raised here wants to listen to some anti-American foreignor telling them what America is all about and how rotten America and Americans are?

Go back to Canada, or Kenya or India or wherever the hell you’re from and keep your anti-American bullcrap to yourself Velshi.

Typical conservative revisionist history. Bush inherited a low 4.2% unemployment rate from Clinton and proceeded to nearly double it in 8 years, leaving a 7.6% unemployment rate to his successor that economists were already predicting–BEFORE Bush left office–would climb to more than 10% before heading downward.

You either believe in trickle down economics or you don’t. If the supposed tax cuts had a trickle down effect, as promised by Republicans, then that means Bush is responsible for today’s economic woes. The Republicans guessed wrong and tax cuts did not stimulate the economy. Further, it was under Bush’s stewardship when Alan Greenspan went out and recommended everyone get adjustable-rate mortgages, which every economist knew was a dumb idea.

Bush did not create any jobs under his tenure. None. And he left a mess. You can’t turn carbon sludge into a diamond overnight.

Name one lie Fox has reported? That is easy. I can name some right now. They said the stimulus did not create jobs on September 1; almost all mainstream economists say it did.

Fox business anchor Stuart Varney recently said unemployment benefits disincentivize people to find jobs. Most economists say this is not true and the facts do not support this lie.

On August 30, Fox news anchor Greg Jarrett said the GDP had contracted over the last 3 quarters. This is a lie. It actually has expanded over the last 4 quarters.

On August 30, Fox lied and said Democrats were going to interfere with election results by not requiring battleground states to ship ballots to troops overseas 45 days in advance. The only so-called battleground state that has done this is led by a Republican, not a democrat.

On August 26 and 27, Fox lied and said that the Department of Homeland Security had adopted a new policy of only deporting undocumented workers who had committed “serious crimes.” Actually, this policy does not even apply to undocumented workers and applies only to those with pending Visa applications likely to be approved.

On August 24, Beck said Imam Rauf’s wife said “All Muslims hate Americans.” She never said this.

There are so many examples of Fox lies. How do you know someone at Fox is lying? They move their lips. That’s about the gist of it. It is a company owned by a company whose largest shareholder is a Saudi Arabian prince linked to terrorist groups.

It is a partisan news organization that likes to employ people without college degrees or brains (including a self-admitted schizophrenic who appears to be off his meds and his rocker).

Polls show Fox viewers are among the most uninformed in the country.

The hell it’s bigotted! CNN has a full line up of “journalists” who don’t have a clue as to what it means and what it’s like to have grown up in America and what being an American is all about, and they consistantly broadcast their radical anti-American views to an American audience. It’s intentional too, as CNN is trying to promote an internationalist view, which is usually quite simple: “America bad – White people really bad”. And I’m sick of their sh*t.
The only people who watch CNN any more are anti-American far-leftists; foreignors and anti-white bigots: people who hate America and need a “news” channel to feed their anti-American hatred.
Enjoy November because the backlash against this crap is going to rock your world.

I already know the elections are going to be bad for democrats. What do you expect when you have the 24-hour propaganda megaphone blasting away against democrats and progressive policies all day long, every day? Hitler was able to use similar tactics to persuade a lot of people to do very evil, stupid things. We know that propaganda works on the weak minded.

Nevertheless, recent polls show people are not voting “for” Republicans. They don’t like Republicans any better than Democrats. They are just voting against the establishment.

I thought Velshi was Canadian, or at least he was from Toronto but he may be USA citizen now, and I suspect a Dem/Liberal, is that a requirement to work for CNN? Back and forth they go, but the bottom line is things are bad in the USA and would that have happened anyway. Maybe.
Good thing he left here because the Liberals have been bounced for a while after many years of mismanagement, and their on their way out in local politics also.
I think the Dems are running scared, and I read yesterday the Dem candidates are only doing interviews with supporting media outlets. So I suspect I won’t see many on the Fox Network, the most watched news by all.
People, just do what we are doing here with our Mayoral race, be sure to go out and vote.

She nailed you Marceaux, I mean Blower, and stop hiding behind the “commentary is not news” crapola. FOX calls itself “news”. The fact that it offers very little news by some objective standard and relies upon mere radical rightist hate-speech through most of the day doesn’t change that.

Lies, lies, lies, Marceaux, I mean Blower, but FOX is only giving its fans the “news” they want.

America’s working class is the glue that keeps our economy on course, even when they are not treated right.
They also know who is tricky and who speeks with a forked tongue, they also know employers have been reneging on paying into social security since the late 1940′s. How do they do this, by realizing social security participation requires them to pay a certain amount of money for each hour worked. Well I’ll be dam. They have been inventing independent contractors, paid by the job., peace work,( paid by they amount of work done, not paid by the hour), To correct this a new formulation is needed, where by hourly is converted to products or services rendered. This was we closed the loophole that has allowed the unfair practice of some decent employers paying into the social security fund, while the other free loading employers enjoy the get out of paying into the social security fund because all the years, no one noticed how the system was really funded. The tricksters keep telling people social security will not be there for you because too many people are receiving social security and not enouth is paying into it. They don’t tell you the truth. Like too many free loading imployers are using loopholes to now pay into the system. They are as bad as shop lifters. I hope everyone pass the work about this. I don’t think you will hear anything about this on FOX NEWs, or any Obama bashing networks.
