Dennis Miller Gives The Caffeinated Conservative’s Take On August’s Big Stories

video

Dennis Miller is a pretty strong example of a “love him or hate him” persona and that was true even before he concentrated entirely on Conservative topics. His visit with Megyn Kelly earlier today is no different. So ask yourself, do you feel like all of the talk of growing prejudice against Muslims in this country is just a bunch of whining? Would you like to hear someone explain why that’s the case in a more irreverent manner than usual? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then this is the segment for you!

During the segment Miller gave his particular spin on most of the past month’s big stories (although he decided to pass up on mocking Tiger Woods’ divorce). He was in typical form although he did manage to keep the obscure references to a minimum. One joke, however, about Kelly’s epic shouting match with Kirsten Powers was just a little bit too complicated to be funny which he readily admitted. Ironically, the funniest thing he said was in the set up for the joke in which he explained that he had been shopping down the block in the set’s backdrop. I don’t know, I just have a soft spot for people making fun of fakey TV sets.

Questioning whether 93 year old Ernest Borgnine should get an award because he doesn’t like “Brokeback Mountain”? Wow. Every time I think Leftists can’t go any lower, they dive even deeper into the cesspool.

  • Dosser

Yep,around seven million Muslims in America. We already have our first Muslim Legislator, several Muslim mayors nation-wide and according to a small minority,18%[1 in 5],our first Muslim president! They’ll always be welcome in my nation, just remember guys,we have a Secular Constitution,Sharia Law will never be allowed. As for this new Islamic Multicultural Center, two blocks away from ground zero, plans are moving forward despite the blatant bigotry of a few, sorry!

This is indefensible. I’m anxious to see anyone come on this board and defend it. Well, I see you already got a thumbs down. How is that possible??

I know Leftists are full of hate, but that just…I don’t know what to say. I mean, he’s 93 YEARS OLD!!

I think the LA Times reporter wrote this about Borgnine because the reporter was caught on tape screaming “I’m not gay”, he said half in earnest.

Dennis Miller makes some cogent points on the double messages that the media sends, as well as some commonsense statements about what the president termed as being the “wisdom” (or lack thereof) of building a mosque at that site.

Watch the video rather than merely accepting Jon Bershad’s grudge-match synopsis of the interview.

IS New York State State Assembly Speaker Democrat Sheldon Silver one of the few of ‘blatant bigotry? He joined with Democrat Gov. David Patterson against the Mosque being built at its present location.

He’s right, “There’s always someone out there who’s going to whine about something someone is trying to do, we should just get used to it and move on.”

I know he was referring to the Ernest Borgnine situation, but you could easly turn that around against the people against the community center.

    Double-standard much?

I don’t agree with it. Lifetime achievement is based on merit. So he doesn’t like gay people so he won’t see the movie (Ironic that you said leftists are full of hate, but isn’t Ernest technically also hating right now. And Azarkhan didn’t you say how much you hate the left, so therefore aren’t you also full of hate yourself. Not saying the left isn’t, just seeing the kettle calling that pot black.), BFD. It doesn’t take away from Marty, or The Dirty Dozen, or Airwolf. Guy’s earned it. Awards are about artistic achievement, not about personal character, so he could come out and say, I hope Permatiltx dies tomorrow. And I’d still be, You were awesome in Escape From New York.

Actually he was speaking to the Time magazine cover, and that’s when he said he has become inured to being charged as “phobic” towards everything.

The interesting point he makes was about the Muslim leadership in this country being lax towards ferreting out the fringe element to their faith. Seems in this country there was no lack of people declaring the tea-party had to go after those fringe elements in their ranks, yet there has not been such a clarion towards Muslims to do the same.

What I find hilarious is that Hollywood is a town where bad-mouthing movies is a cottage industry, now there is talk about going after someone for slamming a film. Socially PC hysterics.

It’s my problem with ideology. It gets in the way.  Of course, this is ridiculous. But you have to be, “Oh, he hates gay people, so he’s no good.” I mean, come on, Mel Gibson is a douche, but that doesn’t mean the Lethal Weapon movies still don’t kick ass.

Not to mention, he’s 94. Look at this message board, most are between 25 and 50, and everyone is still “I hate all libs” “I hate all cons.” We’re supposed to have the more impressionable minds but we’re just as stubborn.

Yes, I do hate the Left. I also want to see the Left destroyed before they destroy America.

I’m glad you think Mr. Borgnine should get the award. Maybe there’s hope for you yet.

Yeah, they caved into bigotry for their own political motives, disgusting really.Thankfully there are people on both sides standing by our Constitution, our values and most important of all, rejecting the over the top hyperbole that seems to have engulfed this issue. From prominent Conservatives like Ted Olson and Chris Christie to Independents like Bloomberg;I salute them all for standing behind this community center.

‘Countdown’??? pffffffff, that’s on the same level as Hannity,O’Reilly,Megyn Kelly,Chris Matthews, etc. All highly biased trash, wouldn’t watch that stuff if they paid me,sorry.

Where was it said the Borgnine did not like gay people?

Borginine simply told Entertainment Weekly this about the movie, “I didn’t see it and I don’t care to see it. »

BTW, “Crash” won the Oscar that year.

And Borgnine won an Oscar for “Marty” even though his best line ever was in “Willard” when he asked “Who the hell is Socrates?’

Borgnine is 93. He was born and matured long before it became fashionable to promote gay causes or have gay friends.

I just think this call to rescind an award based on a solitary opinion towards one film is reflective of a deep hypocrisy on many on the left, especially in Hollywood. They call constantly for open-mindedness and understanding, then at the same time justify ostracising someone with an inflexible and judgemental attitude. It is why I regularly ridicule the Hollywood mindset.

  • AntiHyperbole

In the insulated liberal world that is Time Magazine of course it makes perfect sense to show a Muslim woman with her nose cut off by her husband one week, and then ask if America is Islamaphobic the next. Stoke the fire, then scold the people. In their liberal relativist worldview any shocking images they show are there to add to the complex global dialogue. And any criticism they offer of America are based clearly on what they see as our everlasting ignorance and intolerance. Plus no one at Time wants to get their noses cut off.

Dennis Miller is great, especially on O’Reilly…when I feel like catching the show. His references and metaphors are just so far out there you’re like WTF, by word 3 I’m laughing cause I don’t know what he’s saying, and then after he explains something he adds an encore. It’s all so nonchalant.

MNF was awkward with him, I liked it sometimes but it wasn’t a good fit.

“not all Muslims are terrorists, but (nearly) all terrorists are Muslims. …”

Except in Hollywood’s movies, when they’re usually Lily-White, Crackity-Ass Crackas with not Quite a Russian, or an East German, Or a Baltic State accent Really. I mean, You just can’t Place it! (See Diehard, etc., etc., etc.)

Otherwise, They are the Terrorists in movies, as they were in that heaping, Steaming, POS, Syriana. But that’s, “Ok”. Since We MADE Them Do It, because We’re the DEBIL (Thank You Mama Boucher!) aka, The GREAT SATAN Over There. And For Good Reason Too!

F&F had Jackie Mason, soon to be of fond memory I should think, on this morning. Who at FOX likes really bad comedians?
