Joe Scarborough Agrees With Peggy Noonan: Romney Is A ‘Control Freak’

On Friday, the Morning Joe panel once again turned its attention to Mitt Romney, with guest Josh Green opining that the GOP candidate had gotten “just about everything wrong” in his comments about “the 47 percent,” particularly because he undermined a “long and proud conservative tradition of trying to fight poverty through government programs.”

Panelist Brian Sullivan saw things differently, noting that 500,00 households bringing in $100,000 a year paid no federal net income tax in 2009. Green didn’t disagree, but added that Romney could’ve tackled that issue differently than he had, perhaps by pointing out that some people aren’t paying taxes because they aren’t working and offering some solutions to remedy that.

Mika Brzezinski then turned everyone’s attention to Peggy Noonan new WSJ piece in which she says calling Romney’s campaign “incompetent” was simply politeness — in fact, it’s a “rolling calamity.” What Romney should do, Noonan suggested, is listen to others.

But, Brzezinski asked, what if those others “suck?”

Joe Scarborough agreed, characterizing Romney as a “control freak” who can’t let go or delegate to others.
