Well, point taken – I see where you’re coming from. But you make it sound as if investing in companies that procure these natural resources are somehow make you hypocritical to cite their gross negligence, response, etc. Partially owning the rig, investing in their stocks, etc, it’s pretty much the same right? Or not?

I’m just saying that it’s OK to invest in these companies and/or fields while also condeming their behavior and practices now that it has come to light.

And if anyone is wondering, I am in the process of transferring my investments into green energy. Sadly, I’ll probably take a loss in the short term, but my conscious guides me. Frankly, I am not inordinately fond of Kerry, and he did this to avoid paying taxes. I have no doubt. It is inexcusable, and it is engaged in by politicians and public officials of all sorts, without regard to party or ideology. Poppy Bush was a master at tax avoidance, for example. But, that doesn’t matter. It was wrong.
