Lou Dobbs Hammers Paul Ryan’s Indecision: ‘I Don’t Know If We’ve Got the Right Person in That Speaker Job’
For many people in conservative channels, House Speaker Paul Ryan‘s motion this afternoon that he is not entirely prepared to endorse and support his own party’s presumptive nominee is leaving a sour taste.
The democratic will of the Republican voters have declared that they want Donald Trump to represent the party in 2016, and Lou Dobbs on Fox Business criticized Speaker Ryan for not fully putting his weight behind the real estate mogul. In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper this afternoon, Ryan indicated that while he was proud of his party’s nomination process that has previously yielded men like Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln, he wasn’t “quite ready” to support Trump.
Dobbs voiced his disapproval with the Speaker’s response in an interview with Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, one of the few party figures who has long been an official Trump supporter. “He needs to set a good example,” said Senator Sessions of Speaker Ryan, who was also disappointed that the highest ranking member in the party offered a rebuke of sort of the people’s choice.
“Mitt Romney’s acting like a spoiled child!” exclaimed Dobbs. “These two men have nothing to brag about… it is staggering to me,” he continued, slamming the 2012 Republican party campaign effort to prevent a second term for President Barack Obama.
“Senator… Paul Ryan needs another month to adjust to new circumstances? I – I don’t know if we’ve got the right person in that Speaker job if he’s that slow to process! Do you?”
Shortly after Speaker Ryan’s admission Thursday afternoon, the new face of the Republican party himself responded in kind, saying, “I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda… They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!”
