Michael Eric Dyson, Schultz Accuse Brit Hume and Fox of ‘Race-Baiting’

VIDEO

On Monday, the guests on MSNBC’s The Ed Show responded to the members of Fox News Sunday‘s panel, which largely dismissed Attorney General Eric Holder‘s assertion that his race motivates his critics. MSNBC host Ed Schultz and Georgetown University Professor Michael Eric Dyson attacked the panel for lacking diversity and said that some of its members, and Fox News analyst Brit Hume specifically, were guilty of “race-baiting.”

“So, the color of your skin will determine if you get disrespect or not?” Schultz asked.

Dyson agreed. “When I looked around that table and saw the enormous diversity of both skin, and gender, and color, and race, of course we can come up with a consensus that that was a fair panel,” he insisted.

“We know that Sunday mornings have usually been given over to conservative white men who carp and complain to no end about the inability to get access when they have it,” Dyson continued. He praised Holder for speaking “the truth about what he’s endured silently” about his critics.

“Brit Hume, as I see it, is race-baiting,” Schultz said.

MSNBC contributor Goldie Taylor asserted that both Hume and The Washington Post‘s George Will were “drunk with their own privilege.”
