O’Reilly Confronts Dana Perino for Saying He ‘Overreacted’ on Ferguson

Bill O’Reilly got really fired up on Monday night over Ferguson and said at one point that violent protesters have set back race relations for years. Dana Perino called O’Reilly out for that rather big “overreaction” to the protests.

Well, O’Reilly had Perino on his show tonight to confront her over that bit of criticism. Perino told him, “I thought that was surprisingly and uncharacteristically defeatist of Bill O’Reilly to say.”

O’Reilly argued that there are plenty of people in the world who see “gross irresponsibility on the part of one race,” like rioters and looters in Ferguson, and “get angry toward that race” despite that being a completely irrational response.

Perino still hesitated, telling O’Reilly that America is more tolerant than ever, and saying people in positions of power like him have a responsibility not to say things like that. O’Reilly insisted, “I truly believe that displays of violence set back whoever is doing it.”
