“Rachel Maddow……amassing huge ratings in total viewers.”

How can a prime time show getting less than half of Glenn Beck’s ratings at 5PM be considered huge ratings?

  • The Real Royal King

I think you have to factor in, Moderate, that moderates, progressives and liberals are not as prone to slavish, cult member like adoration and following of media personalities. That has, from the Father Coughlin and onward times a largely rightist phenomenon. I should be surprised, and disappointed and concerned if Maddow ever achieved Beckerhead like ratings.

That being said, I have never liked Maddow’s show. But, she might be the foremost JOURNALIST on cable news today. She is always prepared. She is always polite to guests. She is highly analytical. She has a natural teacher’s ability to explain without preaching. I am growing fonder of her each time I see one of her segments.

The great shame is that NBC ended up with an inadequate host like Gregory (an excellent reporter, but a dismal moderator) for MTP and not Maddow. Her appearances on MTP are always stellar.

No matter how you cut it…Fox consistently gets half or more…the rest get the other half.

The other statistic is that Mediatite has a full court press against Fox this morning.

The real story is …”how can the federal government, a former governor, a former Community Organizer who now plays a President can make so many decisions without checking out the facts first.

Then again the president has some experience in that… 1) Police Acting Stupidly 2) AZ Immigration Bill 3) Authorizing the Government the OK to Assonate US Citizens when they are overseas.

Note: Note to Glen Beck and Brietbart…STAY IN THE UNITED STATES…at least here we still have state laws covering things like this and it can be prosecuted in a local court!

    Assonate?

    To sound like an ass?

Is English a second language for you? Perhaps, a third? Such illiteracy is seldom seen outside northern Alabama.

A statistic is a quantified fact. Where’s the number?

What’s Mediatite? Lard Limbaugh’s briefs? Gretchen Carlson’s push up bra?

I don’t think you can say that. The point today is not the raw numbers, indeed, I doubt that any would yet be reflected. Moreover, I expect FOX’s numbers will improve a bit. The siege mentality is settling in. The damage will not be numbers, but credibility and legitmacy, or the appalling lack thereof. If you don’t believe that, take a look at the Koldy’s Phox Phan Klub. It is a very small site, with very few comments, to be sure, but it exudes a stunned and shaken quality today. I’m sure the same is true of the executive offices at FOX today. Ailes and Murdoch hunger for credibility in the industry and legitimacy among the American people. That was dealt a stunning blow yesterday. In a best case basis, FOX has a couple of years of struggle to regain the lost ground. While 1% to 1.5% of Americans may still lie prostrate before their screens, for the vast, vast majority of Americans, FOX is once again the source of snickers and smirks. The pain felt at FOX is very real today. Ailes and Murdoch could arrest the bleeding with some dramatic move, firing or suspending Hannity, for example. But they have the W pathology of being unable to admit to mistakes, and they believe change is such an admission. It has been and will continue to be a very, very bad time for the FOX management.

“Only 11 percent of the country has confidence in the United States Congress, making it the lowest ranked institution in a new Gallup poll.”

Congress will soon try to destroy Fox News as being too influential.

  • AmeriCuda

according to left wing, JounoLister Steve Krakhead, Maddow has HUGE ratings in TOTAL viewers.
So what does that make Hannity’s ratings?
“Gargantuan, Colossal, release the Kraken! viewers!”

In 1972 Nixon won 49 states against the anti-war candidate. The loons had thousands march in the streets against the war. Loons don’t equal votes.

People like RRK always think that their minority opinion is the majority opinion. When they lose they claim somebody stole the election.

Fox is the only real news on cable or broadcast television. The loons will never understand why the lies they tell won’t work anymore.

There is NO man made climate change.
There are no undocumented workers. There are legal and illegal workers.
There is nothing racist about the Arizona immigration law.

Bush did not steal any election.
No one authorized any torture by U.S. troops.
Bush told NO lies to get us into ANY war.
The Iraq war is not illegal.

The King likes Rachel because she only gives him stories from a far left perspective. That’s why he hates Fox so badly. Anything but far left, and his world view is shaken. No other opinions allowed.

Until anyone on MSNBC can beat Bret Baier or Greta’s numbers, they cannot be taken seriously. Straight news on Fox News is clobbering their rabid opinion shows, how pathetic.

  • Dandee

Did all of you check the ratings table on this site. And to think that MSNBC WOULD BRAG abour their ratings? Makes no sense to me.
