Reaching Across The Aisle: Rep. Hoyer And Rep. Ryan Share Ideas On How To Get Rid Of Rep. Weiner

Video

Bob Schieffer has seen the latest photos from the Congressman Anthony Weiner collection and he’s not happy. With guests Democratic Congressman Steny Hoyer and Republican Congressman Paul Ryan, Schieffer wondered why can’t the Democrats do something to force Weiner out immediately?

There was a bipartisan agreement between Hoyer and Ryan regarding how bad Weiner’s behavior was and how eager they both were for the distraction to go away. Hoyer commented “this is bizarre, unacceptable behavior” and didn’t know how Weiner could continue to represent his constituents. Ryan agreed that Weiner was a “ridiculous distraction” who brought the image of Congress as a whole down.

Then in a moment of genuine cooperation and some befuddlement, Ryan and Hoyer discussed with one another how a judicial process or an ethics investigation would take so much time that neither man, or their party, really wants to waste. They both agreed that Weiner’s resignation would be the fastest and easiest option for escaping the story, but as of now Weiner himself still has a different opinion.

These are just a couple more establishment politicians.

I thought Weiner was done, but the more the establishment tries to get rid of him, the more I hope he hangs in there and sticks it out (wink).

Getting your lefty comments in there early huh guys?! I’ll judge T-Paws FoxNews Sunday interview when I see it, but why don’t you guys enlighten us by telling us about Obama’s “plan” that stands up to so much scrutiny?

  • NeoKong

Uh hoh man…when even leftie suck up Bob Schieffer is calling for you to resign you are really in the dog house.

  • LOGICandREASON

If Rep. Weiner has even an iota of honor or self respect inside of him, he would have resigned on the first day the initial lewd photo was twitted; but even taking this long to do the right thing speaks volume of his character, and it explains what he is truly made of, and what principles he has or believes in.

This is what happens when politicians feel entitled to the offices in which they are elected to serve.

  • The Voice of Reason

Its so heart warming to see such bipartisan excellence in trying to figure out ways to undermine the democratic process!

  • Dem4Ever

Weiner is single handedly destroying the Democratic party. Not even the combined power of Bill Clinton and Barrak Obama can get this guy to go away. I’ve got my popcorn…this is getting better by the minute.

When do you meet with Weiner today? Is it at the gym?

Translation: “Folks, I desperately want to change the subject because I support what Weiner did.”

  • TeaPartyNation

The Weiner doesn’t have the integrity to resign — no surprise there since he’s a solid lunatic-left d-cRAT socialist.

The Weiner has become the poster-boy for the moral, ethical, social and political depravity of the lunatic-left d-cRAT socialists.

The Weiner is the face of what passes for “family values” amongst d-cRAT socialists, and he is the epitome of the d-cRAT socialists’ culture of erection and corruption. (Thanks, Rush)

Please, please let The Weiner stay in office until the Nov 2012 elections so we can all keep The Weiner and his disgusting, revolting and despicable actions in mind as we vote to further TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

Oh… The lovely american consensus between the religious puritan right and the feminist left, to investigate and dig into private life of public personalities. Brave new world…

Very suspicious when Ryan (the Medicare killer) and Hoyer can agree on something. If they would just let the ethics committee do its job, that would be just fine. Weiner is a reliable democratic vote. His constituents still support him, he is getting mental health care and his decision should be accepted for now,

Hoyer’s been blowing his way through the senate since the dinosaurs. Ryan’s just begun and actually has a brain, morals and values he developed in red Wisconsin.

When did wanting to cheat on your wife with young girls become a “mental health” issue?

What if we want weiner to resign b/c of the way he lied through press appearance after press appearance that he arranged after the scandal came to light in the first place? Is that the “religious puritan right”. Also, do I detect some anti-feminism from a lib?

Paul Ryan is trying to save medicare. Under his plan medicare would switch from “fee for service” to “payment support”. People would still get medicare, they would have options & the needy would receive more support, it would just end medicare payments being made indiscriminately by giving the actual customer the descions on how medicare dollars are spent.

Why don’t you explain to us what Obama’s plan is to save medicare? How about any other Democrats plan? I’ll help you out: it starts with the Indpendent Payment Advisory Board…

It isn’t suspicious that they can agree on the completely obvious.

You tell ‘em, Fleur! If a Congressman wants to be a flasher, let him!

  • GoneFishing

The Dems have no choice. They must find a way to get Weiner to resign, and they need to do it as quickly as they can because this story is not going away; until he does. Even after he’s gone the facts and details will continue to show the issue is much bigger than first thought.

Remember, he has been doing this for at least three years…Does anyone really think there are only six woman and girls? Me either… but with Weiner gone the story will be focused on him alone, and not Washington or the Dem’s.

Pelosi and the Leadership tried to finesse the problem instead of dealing with it directly a when he first admitted lying to everyone. That is going to be a costly mistake.

Political leaders have the legal right to indulge in kinky and freaky sex. They should not be obligated to follow traditional sexual standards. The expose of Weiner`s erotic pleasures are no grounds for his dismissal or forced resignation. Lets stop putting politicians on a pedestal and grant them a license to indulge in sexual variety and openness.

Won’t someone respond to the charge that its the lewd pictures & chats ALONG WITH the way he lied through a series of press conferences over a week that is why he needs to resign? The coverup is worse than the crime. That’s Politics 101

  • Ajolily

Betrayed his wife, falsely accused another of a serious crime knowing that person was not guilty. Lied to his friends and didn’t care what they would look like or feel like when the truth came out, Lied to the general public, lied to the democratic party leaders, Used his position to lure woman often a lot younger than him. It is suspected he did this with underage girls as well. This is not only not up to the higher standards we hold our leaders to and should hold them to. It is not even upholding the everyday standards of the average American. Neither liberals or conservatives like this inappropriate behavior and most of them are saying so. We have a few people on here who I am beginning to think are not only liberal hacks but perverts themselves. Why else would anyone still be defending this creep when all the liberal leaders are saying he is not up to their standards either.

  • Rokker

Ryan is so gay!. He is likely another McGreevey who probably got married to further his political career.

Dude, you’re wrong. Ryan went to get a brain, from the Wizard Boehner. But the Wizard turned out to be a fraud. So Ryan still doesn’t have a brain. Oh, no, that wasn’t “Wizard of Oz” Boehner, that was “Imperial Wizard” Boehner.

  • Just4thefax

Fact: At this point Hoyer is just kissing up to the economy fix godfather himself Paul Ryan. Even EF Hutton listens when Ryan speaks.

Actually Hoyer is just paying his last respects to Ryan. He knows Ryan commited political suicide with his “Kill Medicare” budget plan.

I don’t approve of what Anthony Weiner did with phone and text messaging and I didn’t approve of what Bill Clinton did with you know who under the disk, however, we all do thing we should not do, some of us get caught some of us don’t get caught. This has nothing to do with the great things Clinton did with our financial economy and what Hillary is still doing in our Government today. I believe Weiner is suffering enough just from being caught. If everyone knew the sex crimes in many of your closets, it would be easier for many of you to get back to work doing Our Governments badly needed services you are neglecting by keeping your mind on Rep. Weiner’s misguided mistakes. Change your minds and you can change Our Country, especially the jobs part.
