Seth Meyers Promises You Will See SNL’s Stefon on Late Night

When Bill Hader had his final Saturday Night Live episode last year, his character Stefon married Seth Meyers. Then, when it was time for Meyers to say goodbye to the show two weeks ago, Stefon made one last appearance with him at the Weekend Update desk. But was that really the end of their beautifully bizarre relationship? Maybe not.

During an interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live this week, Meyers revealed that Stefon will appear in some way or another on his new version of Late Night on NBC. “Bill and I spoke during my last SNL and we do think he will turn up eventually,” he said.

Meyers also admitted he’s “tempted” to bring some his old SNL bits to Late Night, but joked that Lorne Michaels, who produces both shows, keeps telling him he can’t. “It’s more like, we need to make it a new thing,” he explained. At the same time, he added, having all of SNL’s performers “just a few floors away” means he can go ask for some favors from time to time.

“To be in the building with the people I have worked with for so long will be huge asset,” Meyers said.
