Shep Smith: ‘Hilarious’ That WH Gives Us Anonymous Sources After Trump Bashed Us for It

Fox’s Shep Smith couldn’t help but find it amusing that after President Trump decried anonymous sources less than a week ago, reports from news anchors at the White House for a luncheon today feature — you guessed it — anonymous sources.

There are multiple reports from anchors in that luncheon that a “senior administration official” said the president is open to comprehensive immigration reform that would necessitate compromise on both sides.

When Chris Wallace spoke to Smith about this today, Smith said, “So they’re giving us anonymous sources after they rail on us for using anonymous sources. That is hilarious.”

He mockingly continued, “Don’t use anonymous sources except for the ones we send out to you anonymously. Those anonymous ones are awesome.”

Smith also asked Wallace about whether there was “conflict” at the luncheon he attended between Trump and the anchors from networks he doesn’t like. Wallace said the luncheon ended up being very “hospitable” and warm, telling Smith that Trump is certainly very different in private settings.
