Shep Smith Makes Things Awkward by Ranting to Chris Wallace About Iraq

Shepard Smith is getting really tired of all the “pretending” over Iraq, and wanted to make sure Chris Wallace knew that today. And things kind of got a bit awkward as Smith went on and on.

Smith said the U.S. government shouldn’t be pretending that they’re relying on the new government in Iraq. He cried, “Chris, that’s just not true!” and noted how Iraq currently has a number of important positions to fill, at the very least.

Wallace, somewhat patiently, told him those were the same arguments people made against the Iraq surge in 2006. They went back and forth for a bit, and when Smith finished ranting again, there was a rather uncomfortable, awkward pause, broken by Wallace just laughing and moving on.
