Wasserman Schultz: We’ve Made It Clear Weiner ‘Needs To Resign’ But It’s His Decision

Video

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her new sparring partner Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus appeared together on Meet the Press this morning. Yet unlike the bipartisan agreement on Face the Nation regarding the Anthony Weiner scandal, the two party chairs were quick to point the finger at one another regarding which party has worse leadership.

David Gregory pressed Wasserman Schultz regarding her position on Weiner, and she forcefully stated:

“Anthony Weiner needs to resign so he can focus on his family, focus on his own well being . . . at the end of the day a member of Congress makes their own decision and that’s certainly going to be up to Anthony Weiner, but we have made it clear that he needs to resign.”

Yet Priebus was not satisfied and responded:

“This is a question of leadership . . . it seemed to me that for the first ten days in this circus, that the only job that Nancy Pelosi was interested in saving was Anthony Weiner’s.”

While Priebus continued to suggest Democrats are defending Weiner by not being more forceful in demanding his resignation, Wasserman Schultz alleged it was completely hypocritical for Republicans to point any fingers when the Republican party had their own share of sex scandals that did not result in resignations.

And Wasserman Schultz said she spoke to Weiner who sounded “devastated,” “apologetic” and “remorseful,” yet Gregory smartly wondered whether another word should describe Weiner as of late: “stubborn.”

    You are right.

It should read,” we hoped the heat would die down by now, but it hasn’t and we were starting to look like fools so we now want to make it clear that Weiner must go; if he wants to, that is.

  • winning

I’d wondered why Weiner hasn’t had his ass kicked yet by some dad, but thinking about it, those girls were liberal trash to be “following” him in the first place, parent are probably liberal, and therefore, pussies.

Let me interpret for those that do not understand Democrat double speak. WOW, why does that remind me of News Speak, oh well back to the translation.

~Wasserman Schultz alleged it was completely hypocritical for Republicans to point any fingers when the Republican party had their own share of sex scandals that did not result in resignations.~

    Translation-
Look at all those EVIL republicans that got away with it! Stomp feet and other childish actions.

~“Anthony Weiner needs to resign so he can focus on his family, focus on his own well being . . . at the end of the day a member of Congress makes their own decision and that’s certainly going to be up to Anthony Weiner, but we have made it clear that he needs to resign.”~

    Translation-
It will be completely up to Tony, my bestest friend, to decide if he will resign. We will not really do an investigation, that is all for show. REMEMBER, this is a PERSONAL decision and should remain that way. His well being is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world. The power of the communist party must come before the serfs, for we are the intelligent ones that must make all the decisions for you people. Our call for him to resign is our cover story.

Me, I want him to stay. I am creating another video with all the lies by the Democrats since January 2007. I am having a hard time deciding on what to include. Dodd saying that he had nothing to do with giving Obama and his Crony’s bailouts. Obama lying about the debt ceiling. Weiner. Schultz on the medicare. Dengel saying that Obama Care is to control the people. Etc etc etc.

I am having a hard time keeping it under 10 hours with only an average of 20 second clips. Oh well, it ought to be a good un.

The Weiner doesn’t have the integrity to resign — no surprise there since he’s a typical lunatic-left d-cRAT socialist.

The Weiner has become the poster-boy for the moral, ethical, social and political depravity of the lunatic-left d-cRAT socialists.

The Weiner is the face of what passes for “family values” amongst d-cRAT socialists, and he is the epitome of the d-cRAT socialists’ culture of erection and corruption. (Thanks, Rush)

Please, please let The Weiner stay in office until the Nov 2012 elections so we can all keep The Weiner and his disgusting, revolting and despicable actions in mind as we vote to further TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

The mind boggles that she would be chosen as the voice of the Democrat Party. What were they thinking? Its like fingernails on a chalkboard…listening to that voice brings back to living memory the condescending sister in-law, and nagging, bitchy ex-wife.

  • Colorado_Conservative

The Democrats need to recruit Lady GaGa for some real leadership and have her/him/it? tell The Weiner to resign since they are obviously unable to get the job done!!

Typical right-wing, sexist pig. Republicans get called-out when they blather their sick, racist comments towards “the blacks” and now catch just as much hell for their disgusting comments about “the gays.” But degrading, sexist comments? Still fair play, apparently. Thanks for showing America that right-wingers can still find a way to cling to the lowest common denominator.

Criticisms towards Palin have NOTHING to do with sexism. That’s just a ginned-up fake argument from the right. Palin’s critics lambast her for her lack of knowledge, her arrogance, and her questionable ethics. Sexism has nothing to do with it. Nice try @Colorado_Conservative.

Wassermann-Shultz is being careful about what she says about Weiner because Weiner made it clear in his tweets to his victims that he loves Jewish girls that give good head. And Wassermann-Shultz is Jewish. You connect the dots.

Did someone say because someone made fun of Debbie’s hair their are anti semetic? Honestly, that’s about the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.

So the left is getting ready for a long list of items that cannot be used, said, debated because if a republican says anything they are either a racist or an anti semite.

Call me crazy but were we not the ones defending Israel? Oh, I guess those are Jews over there – nobody cares, it’s not the same as the ones over here. Huh??????

Personally I was thinking that Debbie should use a flat iron on her hair. Is that anti semetic? Do I have to throw mine out? Please, please what is the proper protocol with this silly tool?

As usual, Debbie did to Reince what she does to most who try to go one on one with her. She stripped him of his slacks, underwear and whatever he had left in that area of his body and made him look truly inept. Democrats made the move of all moves by naming her to lead the DNC. She is in a word, brilliant. Always prepared and always confident. Never seen her do a bad segment on television. Now that was on the context of Weinergate. When it came to her calling for his full resignation, she was a bit flustered but found her way back to finishing off Reince and his awful appearance. The days of sticking to the story when asked by the commentator is probably best for Reince. He had no substance whatsoever and like the field of Republican candidates for President, it’s weak and full of no foundation. When Herman Cain is the best thing coming out of this group, Houston we have a problem. Bottom line Debbie is one solid woman and takes no prisoners. Welcome to the election season Reince.

Awww, you getting all butt-hurt because the chosen figurehead of the Democrat Party sounds like a braying ass,
or because she has difficulty with facts, and makes her own? I think maybe its her naturally abrasive tone, condescending manner and smart-ass presentation that make the general public want to hurl.

One must wonder what they were thinking when they chose her…You would think the Dem’s would want someone who could win friends and influence people; Positively, for the next election cycle. Its not gonna happen with This harridan tho. She reminds everyone of the Crazy lady down the hall.

    Yeah , she’s a real genius ….

” In the four weeks since she succeeded Tim Kaine, Wasserman Schultz has been called out by four nonpartisan fact-checkers for mischaracterizing the GOP’s Medicare plan. ”

” But some Democrats are already privately fretting about the media-loving Wasserman Schultz’s tendency to put her foot in her mouth — ”

“Wasserman Schultz’s sharpest rhetoric — such as insisting that Republicans’ move to defund Planned Parenthood and restrict abortion constitutes a “war on women” or that the Ryan plan would be a “death trap for some seniors” — may please her party’s base. But it doesn’t square with her role as a leading voice decrying that kind of over-the-top language in the wake of the January shooting in Tucson that injured her good friend, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. ”

She was just pushing talking points. Obama and the Ds will not propose a budget plan. They did the same thing here in Texas. They wailed about cuts to spending– money we don’t have– and even caused a special session of the legislature because they filibustered cuts until the session expired. They are clearly playing to the mob, urging even more spending instead of trying to restore our economy and place in the world.

Wasserman Schultz: We’ve Made It Clear Weiner ‘Needs To Resign’

No, obviously you have not made it clear.  Or are you admitting that you and Pelosi have no control over your own party and it’s members?  Which is it?  Are you gals lying to us like Weiner or are you inept and inaffectual leaders?  I strongly suspect, as do all here at Mediaite, that you are probably both.  Speak up Wasserman-Schultz!  What say you?

  • http://Mediaite.com uggugg

When I analyze the damage Rep Anthony Weiner did to me and the rest of the Citizens of the USA, I can’t come up with anything. He made a butt head out of himself and the trash talking ladies he spoke and texted with but that is it, so this hoop-d-doo the Republicans, the Media and the Gossip Specialist are engaging in until the cows come home is just that,-a distraction from what they should be doing to get America back on track after numerous business people drained the financial world of huge trillion of wealth because of no honor and too much greed guiding their activities. What is the difference if your committing sins trash taking and texting over the air waves or if you are unjustly taking other people’s money they need for survival and retirement without their permission and never return it. This money thing is a crime taking forever to nail down and prosecute. I do believe a lot of politicians and media people out there have their ability to analyze warped from trying too hard to promote their agendas and they don’t seem to realize most people are shaking their heads wishing they would keep their minds on the business voters sent them there to do and this includes producing jobs here in America. I honest don’t thing the average American gives a hoot about the national debt, if they did, they would all have protested when George Bush begin spending like a drunken sailor after Clinton gave him a surplus to start his Presidency. Do we really forget that easy? He gave us a financial holocaust, let us get that reversed first, then worry about petty things.
