‘What in the World?!’: Rush Limbaugh Baffled by Kanye 2020 Announcement

The crew over at Morning Joe may have gotten a kick out of Kanye West’s newly-announced plans to run for president in 2020, but Rush Limbaugh is mostly just confused. After playing a clip from West’s MTV VMA acceptance speech, the conservative radio host asked, “What in the world happened there that would make us conclude that that guy was running?”
“Was it when he said, ‘We gonna teach our kids to stand up for they self?'” Limbaugh continued, awkwardly imitating West’s rhetorical style. “I just thought he was stoned,” he added, “accepting a meaningless award just to get him up on stage.”
Limbaugh went on to quote the section of the speech in which West said, “This is a new mentality. We’re not gonna control our kids with brands. We not gonna teach low self-esteem and hate to our kids. We gonna teach our kids that they can be something.”
“How bad must it be that Kanye West thinks traditional child-raising is new?” he asked.
