Biden Snipes at Fox’s Peter Doocy for Asking About Brutal NY Times Survey: ‘You Don’t Read the Polls Obviously!’
President Joe Biden tussled with Peter Doocy when the Fox News White House correspondent confronted him on the South Lawn.
Biden took questions from the press pool on Thursday as he was walking to a waiting helicopter. As Doocy was preparing to ask Biden a question about the 2024 election, the president cut him off, patted him on the shoulder and said “Why do you think I’ll always take your questions?”
“It’s a good one! I’ve got two good ones!” Doocy replied. After a question about the national discourse on abortion access, Doocy brought up the recent New York Times poll that shows Biden losing to Donald Trump in many of the most crucial battleground states for the 2024 election.
Asked why he’s trailing, Biden told Doocy “You don’t read the polls, obviously!” He then claimed there were other polls showing him winning in the swing states, and he accused the media of focusing only on polls that don’t look good for him.
