Former Trump aide turned Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany received a strong defense from some of her network colleagues on Friday after Eric Trump joined his father in attacking her.
Eric Trump replied to a MAGA world post asking, “Who thinks Alina Habba was more loyal to Trump than Kayleigh McEnany ever was?” Eric Trump played along with the taunt and replied, “Not even close! @AlinaHabba.”
“My God, leave @kayleighmcenany alone. She went out day in day out and skillfully defended him from the podium. Doesn’t deserve this bullying,” responded Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen to the tweet.
Theissen appeared to referring to the arrows McEnany has also taken from her former boss Donald Trump, to whom she served as White House press secretary.
“I don’t need any advice from RINO Kayleigh McEnany on Fox. Just had a GIANT VICTORY over a badly failing candidate, ‘Birdbrain,’ and she’s telling me what I can do better. Save your advice for Nikki!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform earlier in the week.
Trump was angered by McEnany suggesting that after winning the New Hampshire Trump should turn his attention to winning over swing voters. “I would suggest that adopting a general election tone is what you do at this point, and here’s why I say this. This was actually a fairly good night for Joe Biden,” McEnany argued before nothing Biden outperformed expectations.
Thiessen’s criticism of the Trumps “bullying” McEnany was quickly shared on X by senior Fox News political analyst Brit Hume.
