‘Can’t Wait to See You Back On the Air’: Support for Benjamin Hall Pours In After He Speaks Out for First Time Since Being Wounded

Benjamin Hall is Out of Ukraine, Alert and in 'Good Spirits'

People from every side of TV, digital, and print media are sharing support for Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall, who spoke out Thursday for the first time since he was wounded in Ukraine.

Hall survived an attack by Russian troops on March 14 near Kyiv that killed Fox News cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian producer Oleksandra Kuvshynova.

He honored both in an early evening tweet Thursday, though the tweets were later deleted. The first read “It’s been over three weeks since the attack in Ukraine and I wanted to start sharing it all. But first I need to pay tribute to my colleagues Pierre and Sasha who didnt make it that day. Pierre and I traveled the world together, working was his joy and his joy was infectious. RIP.”

Hall also disclosed the extent of his injuries, telling the world he lost part of a leg, his foot, and sight in one eye. “To sum it up, I’ve lost half a leg on one side and a foot on the other. One hand is being put together, one eye is no longer working, and my hearing is pretty blown… but all in all, I feel pretty damn lucky to be here – and it is the people who got me here who are amazing!”

It is not clear why the tweets were deleted, but within minutes of the long-anticipated update, people from across the world of media shared support for Hall.

ABC’s Jonathan Karl tweeted at that he can’t wait to see him back on the air.

Maggie Haberman, with the New York Times, commended Hall for his “remarkable bravery.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper, meanwhile, offered Hall “best wishes and prayers.”

Others shared similar messages for the Fox News correspondent.
