Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich Calls Out Trump White Genocide Video as ‘Political Propaganda’
Fox News Senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich called out President Donald Trump’s “White Genocide” video presentation as “political propaganda” in a report from the North Lawn of the White House.
President Trump and Elon Musk have been pushing the absurd claim that White South African “Afrikaners” are victims of “genocide” as a way to justify accepting them as refugees while turning away other groups.
During a chaotic bilateral meeting in the Oval Office between Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday, Trump forced Ramaphosa to watch a White Genocide propaganda video and then bitterly argued with him about it.
On Wednesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Special Report, Heinrich told anchor Bret Baier that her sources said the origin of the video was “political propaganda” by an opponent of Ramaphosa:
BRET BAIER: The South African leader pushing back, saying those actions were not government policy. Senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich starts us off tonight live from the North Lawn.
Good evening, Jacqui.
JACQUI HEINRICH: Good evening, Bret. South Africa recently passed a law allowing the government to take land and redistribute it as part of a long running effort to unwind Apartheid disparity.
Its leader tried to tell President Trump it is similar to American eminent domain laws.
But President Trump has also embraced claims of White genocide and that meeting turned tense.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa aimed to reset relations after President Trump cut off all foreign assistance to his country, expelled his ambassador and imposed sweeping tariffs.
But Trump wanted answers to claims of genocide against White farmers.
PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA: I would say if there was Afrikaner farmer genocide, I can bet you these three gentlemen would not be here.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Thousands of stories talking about it, and we have documentaries, we have news stories. Is Natalie here? Is somebody here to turn that on?
JACQUI HEINRICH: Trump forcing Ramaphosa to sit through a video purporting to substantiate the disputed genocide claims.
A source with knowledge of the video’s origins tells Fox it is political propaganda created by one of Ramaphosa’s opponents, Julius Malema.
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: These are burial sites right here, burial sites, over a thousand, of White farmers.
JACQUI HEINRICH: According to The Washington Post, the crosses shown are not graves, but part of a protest years ago against violence to White landowners, which South African leaders say is exaggerated.
PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA: There is criminality in our country. People who do get killed, unfortunately, through criminal activity, are not only White people. Majority of them are Black.
JACQUI HEINRICH: A South African court dismissed claims of White genocide in February, but the Trump administration expedited refugee status for White South African victims. Ramaphosa tried to talk privately, but Trump kept taking questions.
