Joe Biden Settles it Once and For All: He Will Not Be Killing His Dog

President Joe Biden settled a burning question in the mind of at least one member of the media, making it clear that he will not be euthanizing First Dog Major Biden any time soon.

On Wednesday morning’s edition of Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos wrapped up his extensive interview by asking the president, “Is Major out of the dog house?”

With a laugh, President Biden replied, “the answer is yes” and went on to explain “Major was a rescue pup. Major did not bite someone and penetrate the skin, and the dog is being trained now by our trainer back home in Delaware.”

He added that “I didn’t banish him” to Wilmington,” Jill was going to be away for four days, I was away for two, so we took him home. But you turn a corner and there’s two people you don’t know at all, and they move, and he moves to protect.”

“But he’s a sweet dog, 85 percent of the people there love him, he just all he does is lick them and wag his tail,” the president added.

So ends a saga that began last Tuesday, when CNN’s Kate Bennett reported that Major and his big brother Champ Biden had been banished to Wilmington after a “biting incident” involving a member of “White House security,” according to “two sources with knowledge.”

In short order, this escalated to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki being asked if the president has ruled out euthanizing the poor good boy who was just being protective, and the later revelation that the incident was perhaps overblown — presumably by sources who number in the other 15 percent.
