JUST IN: House Republicans Vote Down Resolution to Release Epstein Files
House Republicans, Tuesday, blocked an amendment mandating the release of the DOJ’s files on Jeffrey Epstein.
The amendment, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) amendment calling for the release of all evidence in relation to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The amendment was introduced and subsequently voted down on Monday in the Rules Committee by all but one Republican — Rep. Ralph Norman (R-OK).
On Tuesday, congressional Democrats attempted a “previous question” vote which if passed would have allowed for debate on Khanna’s original amendment in the full House. All 211 House Republicans present voted to block debate, which was defeated in a straight party line vote — 211-210.
Khanna’s amendment would have required U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to “retain, preserve, and compile any records or evidence related to any investigation, prosecution, or incarceration of Jeffrey Epstein,” and to “release and publish any records or evidence” on a “publicly accessible website” within 30 days.
