Meme Expert Aidan Walker Gives Brutal Brushback To Bill Maher Over Transgender Kids Rant

Comedian and pundit Bill Maher got defensive when young guest Aidan Walker issued a brutal rejoinder to his pointed interrogation about transgender acceptance in schools.

On Friday night’s edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the interview guest was Aiden Walker, content creator, internet culture researcher, and author of the Substack newsletter “How To Do Things With Memes.”

The panel guests were  Michael Smerconish, host of “Smerconish” on CNN and “The Michael Smerconish Program” on SiriusXM; and Rep. Nancy Mace, Republican congresswoman from South Carolina’s 1st district who also sits on the Armed Services, Veterans’ Affairs, and Oversight committees.

During the interview segment, Maher asked a long leading question about adults “confusing” kids about sexuality and gender in schools. The host got miffed when Walker bluntly suggested a limitation to their expertise on the subject:

BILL MAHER: Do you think that kids today, one of the reasons why they’re having so much trouble sexually is that the adults have confused them?

I mean, when I was in school, I mean homosexuality wasn’t even discussed very much. I mean we knew it, and I didn’t think that adults were particularly against it. It just wasn’t brought up.

And certainly nobody ever suggested to me I might be in the wrong body. I’m not saying there aren’t people who aren’t in need of transing. I think it’s rare, but they are.

But I feel like they put it out in the school so much that maybe it had an ill effect. Do you think there’s any truth to that?

AIDAN WALKER: I think that when you were a kid and that was the situation, it led to a whole lot of problems too. We didn’t talk about them.

BILL MAHER: Like?

AIDAN WALKER: Like people who weren’t able to be their full selves. (Yeah) And I think online or off, (That’s True) everybody should have a chance to be who they are in America and receive respect and dignity.

BILL MAHER: You think we’re doing the right amount.

AIDAN WALKER: What’d you say?

BILL MAHER: So we’re doing the right amount in schools.

AIDAN WALKER: Well, I’m not an educator, Bill. I talk about memes on the internet.

(LAUGHTER)

And you aren’t an educator either. You have a TV show.

(LAUGHTER)

BILL MAHER: Well, f–k you. Thank you.

BILL MAHER: I think a lot of people would say I have educated them on a lot of subjects.

AIDAN WALKER: I’ve been educated by you too. I watched this when I was a kid.

BILL MAHER: Okay — Let’s not fight. I’m glad you’re here. And let me tell you, you’re one of the youngest guests and you’ve handled this better than a lot of ones who are twice your age. So I’m all good with this.
