‘Shut Up and Just Get Behind Him!’ Rep Tells Dems To Stop Fretting About Biden Or ‘That Crazy Man’ Trump Will Destroy Democracy

New Jersey Democratic Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman told Democrats fretting about President Joe Biden’s age to “Shut up and just get behind him!” — warning failure to do so could hand victory to “crazy” ex-President Donald Trump.

Rep. Bonnie, as she is known, was a guest on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Dean Obeidallah Show, during which host Dean Obeidallah asked her about the persistent theme of President Biden’s age:

DEAN OBEIDALLAH: Democrats who are concerned now, oh is President Biden the right person or not. And I think he is. But that’s up to people decide.

REP. BONNIE WATSON COLEMAN: First of all, Democrats need to be resolute in supporting Joe Biden. There’s no reason not to support Joe Biden. He’s done magnificently on behalf of this country. So shut up! And just get behind him the way you should. And be and be there enthusiastically, because we’re not asking you to do a favor. We’re asking you to support the man who’s done so much for this country in one short term. And I think you, everyone’s going to know that he went there with the UAW. There are some really good ads on right now. I pray that they stay on because they speak specifically to various aspects of the community and how the community has been– how their needs and their desires and been dignified with the legislation and with the positions that the administration has taken.

And when we get into post November this year, getting to some real. Campaigning. And we’re all solidly together talking about what we’ve accomplished and what we will accomplish again and how we do that together with the administration that showed up in the 117th Congress. I think the people in this country will see. I pray so because our democracy is hanging by a shoestring. And if that crazy man gets re-elected, somehow, we’ll lose our democracy because all he’s interested in doing is coalescing all power, all responsibility and all authority in the office of the president. And that sounds like an autocracy. But under him, it would be a kleptocracy.
