The Kremlin claims that former President Donald Trump did send coronavirus testing kits to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the peak of the pandemic but denied claims that the pair had spoken since Trump’s presidency ended.

The statement was a response to claims disclosed Tuesday in excerpts from veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s upcoming book, War.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov’s statement to Bloomberg News on Wednesday comes amid flat denials by the Trump campaign that Woodward’s allegations were nothing more than “made-up stories.”

Trump campaign continued to attack Woodward as a “truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Woodward wrote that Trump secretly sent Abbott Covid-19 testing devices to Russia and had continued a line of communication between Trump and Putin, even after he left office.

Peskov denied that Trump and Putin have spoken since Trump’s presidency ended: “No, that’s not true.”

Woodward’s book, set for release on Oct. 15, examines Trump’s foreign policy stance toward the ongoing war in Ukraine and his relationship with Putin.
