Trump Claims ‘We Won It 3 Times’ in New Election Lie Rant as Fox Host Laughs Along
Fox News and Fox Noticias host Rachel Campos-Duffy laughed and nodded along as President Donald Trump claimed “We won it 3 times” in a new rant about his longstanding lie that he was the true victor in the 2020 election.
Trump has spent years falsely claiming the 2020 election was “rigged” against him, and part of the fallout from those lies was the Dominion defamation lawsuit was resolved when Fox News agreed to a settlement that included a $787.5 million payout just before the suit was about to play out in a weeks-long trial after volumes of damaging revelations were publicized pre-trial.
The settlement also included a mandatory “acknowledgment” of “the court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false.”
Fox anchors periodically corrected Trump when those claims were made following the settlement.
But since taking office for a second time, Trump has felt free to invoke those lies on Fox News, daring them to air his claims.
That was the case when Campos-Duffy scored a sit-down with Trump this week, clips of which aired across Fox News programs like Fox & Friends and posted on Noticias.foxnews.com, FOX Noticias You Tube page, the FOX Noticias Podcast and on FOX Deportes.
In an exchange about interference in foreign elections, Trump launched into a new rant about 2020:
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah, I know I know that many Latin Americans will – it’s like they know what happened, but they know what – they want you to expose it.
TRUMP: Everybody knows. Now, the one good thing is that this term, I call it the third term, right? I just don’t want the results of the second term.
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Yeah.
TRUMP: But we won it 3 times. But I don’t want the results because it was terrible what they’ve done to the border. When you think of it, what they’ve done to this country with the wars, Russia Ukraine would have never happened. October 7th in Israel would have never happened. Therefore, you wouldn’t have hostages to worry about. You wouldn’t have – You wouldn’t have had anything because Iran was broke. They had no money. They couldn’t give it to Hamas or Hezbollah, but that would have never happened. The Russia-Ukraine would have never happened. The worst embarrassment in the history of our country, I believe the Afghanistan withdrawal – the way we withdrew. I think it was the most embarrassing moment in history, our country – wouldn’t have happened. You wouldn’t have inflation. And I can name about 25 other things, but you don’t have the time. Especially in two languages. But, it’s – it’s so horrible what took place and some people don’t want it, want to mention it. But you know, the other thing, the Democrats keep talking the same way they did. They still want to have men in women sports. I was watching a news program today and there was a congressman. I won’t reveal his name because he was a nice guy, but he’s so foolish. And he was fighting the announcer asking the question, demanding that men be allowed to participate in women sports. I said, ‘this guy – is he – is he serious?’ It’s just hard to believe. And that’s one of many things. I mean, transgender for everybody. Open borders. How about open borders? Open borders. Let the entire world pour into our country from prisons and everything else. But let the entire world – and it’s not South America – it’s a whole world. From the Congo – is one of the biggest – prisoners from the Congo, Congo jails pouring into our country. Who would allow this to happen? It’s such a violation. So sad. So sad to see what happened. But I will say that, by doing it this way, it’s a much more important presidency than it would have been. It was more standard. It’s really become a historic presidency. And unless I answer a question very badly for you, we’re going to keep it that way, Rachel.
CAMPOS-DUFFY: Right. That’s right.
TRUMP: Okay.
