View Hosts Mercilessly Mock Trump Over Trouble With $465M Fraud Bond — Possible Seizure of Trump Tower

The View host Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts mocked former President Donald Trump over the prospect that AG Letitia James may seize his property to pay his fraud bond.

There has been a lot of spiking the ball from Trump critics over his inability to pay the bond to appeal the fraud judgment that could cost him in excess of $460 million if appeals are unsuccessful.

On Wednesday’s edition of ABC’s The View, Joy Behar ignited speculation about the method Trump might use to pay the bond:

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Is Letitia James going to go like put a chain on Trump Tower?

JOY BEHAR: Nobody wants to lend him the money, in this country anyway. Who knows what’s going to happen with Russia and Saudi Arabia?

That quip blew up when Trump lawyer Alina Habba was asked to respond to it on Wednesday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s The Story with Martha MacCallum, and conspicuously sidestepped:

MACCALLUM: Yes. Is there any effort on the part of your team to secure this money through another country, Saudi Arabia or Russia as Joy Behar seems to think?

HABBA: Well, there’s rules and regulations that are public. I can’t speak about strategy, that requires certain things and we have to follow those rules. Like I said, this is manifest injustice.

Whoopi, Behar, and Sunny Hostin had a field day in that same segment mocking Trump with faux tears and speculation about the fate of Trump Tower:

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I’m so sorry. So, as it turns out, you know who says he cannot come up with the cash to cover his $400 million plus bond in his New York fraud case? So. Oh, it’s Letitia James, like, gonna just–

JOY BEHAR: Just. You need a tissue. I don’t know if.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: I’m laughing or crying.

JOY BEHAR: Here, but I try to wipe the tears from.

SARAH HAINES: I don’t see any real tears–.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Well, there’s, no there’s tears inside me. Hahaha. But is Letitia James going to go, like? Put a chain on Trump Tower?

JOY BEHAR: Yeah.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: And take it away from him?

JOY BEHAR: He doesn’t have the money. Has. Nobody wants to lend him the money in this country anyway. Who knows what’s going to happen with Russia and Saudi Arabia? Because they know that he doesn’t pay his bills back. And obviously he didn’t make enough money in that golden sneaker thing or the Trump University or the Trump steaks–

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: But wait a minute. What about Jared? Doesn’t Jared have 2 billion still?

JOY BEHAR: Yes he does. He got from the Saudis. But I guess Jared knows that he don’t pay his bills so he doesn’t want to give him the money either.

SUNNY HOSTIN: That was surprising to me that Jared is not going to give him part of his $2 billion cash that he got, probably only because he worked in the Trump administration.

But but I will say this to reiterate, the reason people will not lend him money is because he is notorious for stiffing people that worked for him in 2016, when the Taj. Mahal just devolved–

JOY BEHAR: Who loses money on a casino?

SUNNY HOSTIN: You know, you know why he lost the money? Because he had three casinos together, 2 to 3 casinos. His actuary, the accountants, told him they will cannibalize each other. He did it anyway. And then 100 contractors were not paid because of it. And they lost their homes. They lost their businesses. They lost their livelihood.

This happened in 2016. There is no way anybody is is going to lend money to him. And I can’t wait to see the chains on Trump Tower, actually, on Fifth Avenue!
