Chuck Todd Has a ‘Real Problem’ with Interviewers Booking Hunter Biden After Ex-First Son Trashes Democrats
Chuck Todd has a “real problem” with people booking Hunter Biden following the former president’s son trashing numerous Democrat “elites” in a rollercoaster interview.
On The Chuck ToddCast, Todd vowed to never book Hunter Biden following an interview where Biden slammed Jake Tapper, George Clooney, and others he felt were not supportive enough his his father, former President Joe Biden, and questioned his ability to run a second presidential campaign.
Todd said:
I will never book Hunter Biden. I have no interest in what he has to say for a couple reasons. Number one, he’s not the candidate. He wasn’t on the ballot. Anything he says is in defense of his father. I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but it doesn’t matter, he’s a son defending his father, and my guess is he’s going to defend him to the hilt. So I just kind of think, you know, I take every one of his anger pieces of anger and criticism and I just sort of chalk it up to, yeah, he’s defending his dad and he loves his dad.
Todd took things further by saying he has a “real problem” with anyone booking the former president’s son.
“I have a real problem with the folks that are booking him. If you’ve chosen to book Hunter Biden, you’ve chose to book spectacle. You’re not interested in — and the two interviews that have gone viral were both designed to get attention, not to surface new facts, not to give you a better understanding of what may have happened. It was just, let’s give him a platform to settle some scores that maybe he wants to settle,” the former NBC anchor said.
He argued more exposure for Hunter Biden only hurts Democrats.
“I don’t think this does Hunter Biden any good. I don’t think this does Joe Biden any good, it certainly doesn’t do the Democratic Party any good. That’s why it’s surprising to see the former DNC chair, start a podcast and decide that the best way to market it is Hunter Biden,” Todd said, referring to Jaimie Harrison’s newly-launched podcast.
Todd advised the Bidens to keep their grievances private rather than aired out in public.
“I don’t like it when politicians use the media or campaigns or voters for their own therapy,” he said. “I think people should use therapy when they need it. I have in the past, it’s been very helpful to many members of my family, I’m a huge advocate of it. But let’s not do it in public. Try to deal with your issues amongst yourself. And this is why I was critical of, ultimately, why I critical of Joe and Jill Biden for running in the first place, because their family wasn’t ready for this.”
