Jasmine Crockett Claims Trump Supporters Are ‘Sick’ and Part of Country’s ‘Mental Health Crisis’
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (R-TX) linked supporters of President Donald Trump to a “mental health crisis” in the country and declared she’d “give anything” to have a Republican like former President George W. Bush back in office.
Crockett joined Katie Couric on her Next Question podcast this week where she argued that opposing Trump is not partisan, but what any common sense person should be doing. The congresswoman blasted anyone who backed the recent military parade celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary in Washington, D.C. as “sick.”
“This idea that we don’t care how many people get hurt. We don’t how we prostitute our service members, you know, thinking that you have your own special little army that’s for you. I mean, it is just, it’s sick. It is really sick. And anybody that supports it is also sick,” she said.
Crockett then linked Trump’s MAGA following to a “mental health crisis.”
“We’ve got a mental health crisis in this country because everyone, no matter how you affiliate yourself, should be against Trump, period. This is not partisan for me,” she said.
Crockett added that she would “give anything” to have Bush back in office, calling him a “regular Republican.” Crockett’s come as the question looms around Trump’s strategy with the escalating fighting between Iran and Israel. Trump has hinted the United States could become more involved and declared Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon. The stance has split many MAGA followers — including now-Trump-critic Tucker Carlson — with some critics comparing upping U.S. involvement in the conflict to the 2003 Iraq invasion under Bush, which Trump has long been a critic of.
“I would give anything to have, sad to say, George Bush. Give me any regular Republican nowadays and I would be happy. But right now we have someone who does not care and he is being enabled by the fact that there are people that follow him and they pump him up,” she said.
Crockett further claimed her heart “breaks” for those enlisted in the United States military under Trump.
“My heart breaks for service members, people that signed up to protect democracy and freedom, not only here, but abroad, and were willing to risk their lives,” she said. “And now, literally, the very thing that they signed up to fight against is now their commander-in-chief. It really breaks my heart. And I don’t know how far he has to go before we can come together and just say, enough is enough.”
