Sex Watch: NJ Councilman’s 20 Year Dry Spell, And Other Absurd Sex Scandal Headlines
Last week Eugene Robinson, a local New Jersey Councilman, seized national attention after falling victim to a prostitution blackmail scandal, testified in court that he hadn’t had sex in 20 years. Despite the fact that the whole thing was a conspiracy (unbeknownst to Robinson, the woman he was fooling around with was a prostitute hired by political enemies taping the whole thing so they could later blackmail him), the media circus has unsurprisingly been focused around his no-action-since-’89 claim. Even the AP couldn’t resist using the money quote in the lede of the story, before revealing the blackmail scheme:
”I was so surprised,” he testified Wednesday in an Atlantic County courtroom. ”I, um, hadn’t really had any sexual activity since ’89. I thought that, naively, we were going to just pet.”
Since the trial, Robinson seems not only to have lost his political career, but his also, it would seem, his mind: HuffPo reports that he’s not only stepping down when his term ends in December, but the “67-year-old now lives in a nursing home, uses a wheelchair, takes eight prescription drugs a day and has missed months of council meetings.”
The sudden downfall of Robinson’s career at the hands of his libido (no pun intended!), brought to mind all the other politicians who have suffered a similar fate . Behold, a catalog of the most awesome most absurd ways the most lustful lads have been captured in the media:
