‘Mad Dog’ Russo Fed Up With NFL Showing Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark at Chiefs Playoff Game: ‘I’m Gonna Go Throw Up’

The Dan Le Batard Show
Chris “Mad Dog” Russo took issues with several aspects of the Kansas City Chiefs’ most recent playoff game — including the coverage of Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark.
During the Chiefs’ Saturday game against the Houston Texans, the broadcast routinely showed Swift — who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — in one of the suites watching games. During one of those cutaways, she was suddenly joined by Clark.
When the relationship first became public and league broadcasts showed Swift every time she attended a game, Russo regularly complained about the coverage. On a recent episode of The Dan Le Batard Show, Russo made it clear his feelings had not changed.
“I am so sick of Kansas City,” he said. “If I see Caitlin Clark or Taylor Swift one more time in that freaking suite, I’m gonna go throw up.”
Russo also took issue with the officiating. At one point during the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes drew a penalty for unnecessary roughness when he scrambled out of the pocket, tried to run for a first down, and slid down to avoid being hit by a defender. Due to the slide being very late, however, Mahomes still received minor contact. The call was widely criticized and even elicited a strong response from ESPN announcer Troy Aikman.
Later in the game, Mahomes ran out of bounds and was touched by a defender. The QB blatantly embellished the contact in an effort to draw another penalty.
Russo was furious.
“The whole Chief organization gets nothing but calls,” Russo continued. “How the hell do they call those two roughing the passers? And then Mahomes is mocking the officials by trying to get a third call by dancing out of bounds and seeing if he can figure out a way to get another 15 free yards! That was a disgrace on Saturday afternoon!”
