Adam Schiff: This Country Won’t ‘Survive Another Four Years’ of President Trump

Rep. Adam Schiff insisted Sunday morning that the nation would not survive another four years of President Donald Trump.

Schiff made the comments on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos in response to a clip of Trump boasting about a likely 2020 victory during his rally on Wednesday.

Trump says “you all are going to elect him in 2020,” host George Stephanopoulos said at the end of the clip.

Schiff said Trump was wrong.

“That’s not going to happen and I don’t think this country could survive another four years of a president like this who gets up every day trying to find new and inventive ways to divide us,” Schiff stressed.

He continued on: “He doesn’t seem to understand that a fundamental aspect of his job is to try to make us a more perfect union. But that’s not at all where he’s coming from.”

Then after predicting Trump will be defeated, Schiff added, “He has to be defeated because I don’t know how much more our democratic institutions can take of this kind of attack on the rule of law.”
