Alan Dershowitz Says, ‘If You Want to Destroy Hamas, You Have to Kill the Civilians’ During Tense Piers Morgan Debate
Former Harvard Law School professor and Jeffrey Epstein lawyer Alan Dershowitz claimed during a debate on Thursday that “if you want to kill Hamas,” you “have to kill the civilians who are being used as human shields.”
“If you want to destroy Hamas, you have to kill the civilians who are being used as human shields,” said Dershowitz during a debate about Israel’s killing of civilians in Gaza on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “It’s a tragic choice. I wish Israel didn’t have to make it, but it’s a choice inflicted on them by Hamas. You can argue that they’re wrong, but you can’t argue that it’s their responsibility.”
Moderator Piers Morgan responded, “I don’t accept that that is the only way Israel could have prosecuted this war. I don’t think destroying Gaza and killing tens of thousands of civilians was the only option they could’ve done. I think it was driven by a rage.”
“What’s the other option?” asked Dershowitz, to which Morgan remarked, “How many more people are gonna get killed here? It’s ridiculous.”
Dershowitz’s debate opponent, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouti, then noted, “According to World Health Organization, Israel bombarded 94% of all hospitals in Gaza.”
“I believe that because Hamas hides underneath them,” replied Dershowitz.
After Barghouti added that “1,500 medical doctors, nurses, and health professionals” had been killed, Dershowitz interrupted, “As human shields.”
“Shut up please,” Barghouti snapped. “Not a single foreign journalist was allowed into Gaza. Why? Because they want to hide the truth. 228 Palestinian journalists were killed by Israel in this war while they were trying to report.”
