Amid Trump-Musk Feud, Fox Host Tells Audience Stephen Miller Ditched Interview for a ‘Meeting in the Oval Office’
After repeatedly teasing an interview with Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on Thursday’s Kudlow, the host eventually told viewers that Miller would not be joining.
Over several hours on Thursday, President Donald Trump and Elon Musk feuded with one another in one of the more dramatic public breakups in recent memory. The Tesla CEO spent nearly $300 million to return Trump to the White House. Trump rewarded Musk by appointing the billionaire to lead the “Department of Government Efficiency.” During his tenure as a special government employee, Musk repeatedly clashed with other Trump officials behind the scenes.
But this week, Musk took his differences with the administration public by coming out against the Trump-backed spending bill that’s currently before the Senate, calling it a “a disgusting abomination,” and he slammed Republican lawmakers who support it. In a social media post on Thursday, the president said Musk was “wearing thin” and that he asked the CEO to leave the government and that Musk “went CRAZY.” Trump even threatened to cancel federal contracts with Musk’s companies.
Musk responded by accusing Trump of being in the files of deceased convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
After coming back from break, Larry Kudlow informed his Fox Business audience that, despite his previous announcements, Miller would not actually be joining the program:
All right, folks, so, live TV. We lost Mr. Miller to a meeting in the Oval Office. Perfectly understandable. When I was in government, it would happen all the time. You’d have to kill a TV show when you’re at the president’s beck and call.
Kudlow then pivoted to an interview with Sen. John Husted (R-OH) at the Capitol.
