And Now a Sportcaster Rips Erin Andrews for ‘Drama Queenish’ Reaction to Sherman’s Rant

Just when you thought every TV personality with a microphone had finally tired themselves out of adding their two cents to the faux-debate over NFL cornerback Richard Sherman‘s infamous post-game rant — “He was unsportsmanlike,” “We need to teach our children some class,” “Was he thuggish?” — sports broadcaster Kevin Harlan decided to jump in by letting you know he thinks the real controversy should be about Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews.

As Sportsgrid reports, Harlan believes her reaction during Sherman’s rant was “drama queenish” and all about her, fueling the controversy [emphasis added]:

I don’t know if [Andrews] was unprepared, her reaction was more about her than the guy. It was very odd. If you go back and look at that interview, her reaction was more like drama queenish. If Michelle Tafoya or someone like that were interviewing, I can’t help believe that she wouldn’t have asked the appropriate followup and been a little bit more composed. Whereas the gal that was asking the questions was almost like she was on a stage. It wasn’t about her, it’s all about him, and the more I think about it, the more irritated I get. […] [Sherman] mentioned Crabtree’s name in the answer, and so had she been listening, she would have known that’s who he was talking about, and yet she kind of provoked him even more. You know, the consummate interviewer is a good listener, and then when she at the end of the interview she said ‘Oh, oh, I guess we’re gonna go.’ Well, that’s because she was obviously lost and it wasn’t that he left. He was still there.

That’s right. TNT broadcaster Harlan believes Andrews’ reaction during Sherman’s rant might have led to the media firestorm over Sherman’s obviously impassioned post-game catharsis.

Never mind that it was Fox production’s decision to dump out of the interview early; and never mind that Andrews did exactly what a sideline reporter is supposed to do and get her interviewee to give soundbites: Harlan thinks this li’l drama queen stirred the controversy, and not Sherman’s words themselves.
