Andrea Mitchell Randomly Presses Hillary Clinton Over Emailgate
And so it begins. In an interview that consisted mainly of well-trod recent ground like Hillary Clinton‘s interaction with a coal miner in West Virginia, Andrea Mitchell Reports host Andrea Mitchell couldn’t resist a couple of apropos-of-nothing questions about the email “scandal” that Clinton’s opponents hope will derail her presidential candidacy. Despite the fact that there have been no new developments in the story in several weeks, and what developments there were turned out to be garbage, Mitchell still snuck in a couple of Emailghazi questions Tuesday afternoon:
Mitchell: I got to ask you since you last mentioned this to my colleague, Chuck Todd, in April, have you been contacted by the FBI to set up an interview?
Clinton: No.
Mitchell: Any indication that your private server was hacked by foreign hackers?
Clinton: No, not at all.
You’ve especially got to love that second “When did you stop getting hacked by Russians?” question, since there never has been any evidence the server was hacked, and forensic computer expert Hillary Clinton has obviously had no opportunity to discover any in the meantime. Not even with a cloth.
You can look forward to much more of this once the media pivots, along with the candidates, to the Hillary v. Trump general election battle, and tries its level best to keep things close.
