Chris Wallace to Trump: ‘Are You in the Process of Blowing Your Campaign?’

Chris Wallace opened his interview with Donald Trump this morning with a very blunt question: “Are you in the process of blowing your campaign for president?”

Trump basically shrugged and said, “I don’t think so.” He proceeded to tout how well he’s polling, but Wallace immediately countered with how much he’s fallen in Wisconsin and how yuge his unfavorables with women are.

He told Trump, “If you had purposely set out to turn off voters, especially women voters, over the last two weeks, I’m not sure you could have done a better job.”

Wallace also pressed Trump on his recent abortion flap. Trump dismissively and repeatedly said it was just a “hypothetical.” Wallace pointed out, “You gave that answer.”

Trump said, “A very conservative group would have said that was the appropriate answer, I’m not saying it was.”

Wallace pointed out the criticism that he hasn’t “thought these things through” and there’s a steep learning curve for him. Trump said that’s true of everyone.
