Chuck Todd Slams Pro-Trump Group’s ‘Shockingly Inappropriate’ Anti-Comey Attack Ad

On MTP Daily this afternoon, Chuck Todd blasted the “shockingly inappropriate” ad a pro-Trump group took out and plans to air on TV tomorrow attacking James Comey.

“It feels to me,” he said, “this is like a horse’s head in a bed. It’s like ‘This is what’s gonna happen to anybody’s reputation that crosses me. We’re gonna destroy you.'”

Todd is referring to the “Showboat” ad from Great America Alliance going after Comey for being “just another DC insider only in it for himself.”

The Atlantic‘s Molly Ball asked the others on the panel to imagine “a nationally televised ad campaign against Anita Hill, for instance.”

Former RNC Chairman Michael Steele said this kind of thing only hurts the president. He recommended they should pull the ad and not make this more partisan than what it needs to be.
