CNN Analyst: Fact-Checking Trump Runs Risk of Making Clinton Look Like a ‘Scold’
CNN political director David Chalian pointed out today one of the risks of Hillary Clinton attempting to fact-check what Donald Trump says tonight.
The Clinton campaign has put a major emphasis on Trump’s lies ahead of the campaign and amid mounting pressure on debate moderator Lester Holt to fact-check the candidates:

These headlines on Trump's lies are from just one week of his campaign.

Trump told 31 outright lies just last week.

But as Chalian pointed out to Erin Burnett this afternoon, calling him out like this during the debate is risky:
“Does she want to be the fact-checker at every point? Or does she risk then becoming sort of a scold?”
(Remember, perceptions are big in presidential debates.)
